Prabhandam- pAsuram 29 & 30 2. Pearls from the poems SS-29 eduttAr tiruvAkkAm ErArvil * mARan toduttAr saramvAdam tOlA – daDuttaDuttu * uTpagaiyum vEdangaL OdA veLippagaiyum * tiTpamazhin dODinArgaL teerndu. We saw that nammAzhvAr's vAkku is like a divya-paDagu for bhAgavatAs and a hot Sun for others. Here, his vAkku is compared to a bow and his vAdAs such as `uLanenil uLan' etc as arrows in a row for vEda kudrusTis(uTpagai) and vEdabhAgyAs(veLippagai). SS-30 teerndiruL engumtaN tEsinai veesiDa * sErnda saratkAla seernilavai – OrndugandEn * kArimagan mARan karuttAzha pAsurangaL * tERinAl tAnE teLivu. AzhvAr's SrIsUktis which are filled with the essence of vEdAntam, are like a cool divinely Moon for bhAgavatAs. They destroy the darkness of agyAnam and at the same time give a comforting coolness of bhagavat anubhavam. Pearls from the poems: In nrusimhAvatAram, perumAL showed fierce eyes to the demon king and caring eyes to his bhAgavata kid simultaneously. AzhvAr (and svAmi dESikan) are similar to this. They are a rain of nectar to bhAgavatAs and at the same time rain of arrows to others; they are like a divinely moon to bhAgavatAs and at the same time a hot sun to others.
