Dear SrI vaishNavAs,

nADeer nALtORum vADA malarkkoNDu

pADeer avannAmam veeDE peRalAmE – tvm 10.5.5

Details presented in this post:

1. Prabhandam - pAsuram 35 & 36

2. Pearls from the poems

SS-35

vandittu tEntiru vAimozhiyai vAzhttuvan *

sandamuDi kArguhaiyuL sAlbAga – indirAvin *

neelamaNi yAmmAlai ninmalanaik kATTumoLi *

kola viLakkAi kuRittu.

Here the Lord is described as neelamaNi adorning periya pirATTi's

chest. Thus, He is black in colour and also He is residing inside

the dark cave of vEdAntam. Only with the help of the divinely light

of sweet tiruvAimozhi, one can see Him. The dark cave mentioned

here, refers to the `teLiyAda maRainilangaL' (intricate portions in

Sruti).

SS-36

kuRitteRindAl vEgamuDan kUram bilakkai *

kuRittaDaidal pOlkurugUr kOmAn – kuRittilakkAm *

veeDuDai yAniDai veeDuseidAr tanpoRuppai *

veeDuvEnDi mAltALil viTTu.

Sruti mentions bharanyAsam with phrases such as `praNavO dhanus…'

etc.

In aDaikkalappattu, svAmi dEsikan says `aruL varadar nilai ilakkil

ambena naan amizhndEnE'. With a fixed mind on the goal, nammAzhvAr

practiced sAnga bharanyAsam.

Pearls from the poems:

The divinely lamp of tiruvAimozhi drives out the darkness of

agyAnam; illuminates the gray regions of Sruti and clearly shows the

karumANikkat tirumAl.

[saTAri Satakam is one of the many classic works of srI. U.vE.
