Prabhandam - pAsuram 41 & 42 2. Pearls from the poems SS-41 koNDalAik kaNdEn kurugUr parAnkuSan * vaNDulAvum tArmARan vAkkamudai – taNTuzhAittAr * mArban guNangaLai mAripeidu seervaLarkkum * pArpira pannar payir. TiruvAimozhi is compared to holy clouds. It pours only the anubhavam of bhagavat kalyANa guNAs. There is a comparison that the works of first three AzhvArs are like sacred crops and those of tirumazhisai AzhvAr as helping in destroying the weeds (other matams). Here nammAzhvAr pAsurams are compared to a divinely rain which help the crops of prappannAs to grow and flourish. SS-42 payiril kaLaiyazhittup pAngAi vaLarkkum * uyarnda uzhavanpOl OrndEn – uyirkkut * teruLpAicchi valvinaigaL teerapira patti * aruLseiva dAzhvAr azhagu. Here, AzhvAr pAsurams are compared to the plougher. AzhvAr's splendor lies in his prabhandams. It supplies the water of gyAnam required for the growth of us, the crops. At the same time, it weeds out our karmas. It helps to do prapatti, the final yield of this cultivation process. Pearls from the poems: A holy cultivation process is going on here. PrapannAs being the resulting crops, AzhvAr pAsurams are like water and accessories required for the proper growth of the plants. [saTAri Satakam is one of the many classic works of srI. U.vE.
