Apart from removing the bond of karmA, AzhvAr has given us the

knowledge of tatva-hita-purushArttam which resulted in our:

- shedding ahankara, mamakArams

- shedding the preposterous belief that we are independent.

- conquering the fear caused by samsAram.

Earlier AzhvAr was compared to celestial cloud in pouring bhagavat

kalyANa guNAnubhavam for the proper advancement of prapannAs. This

cloud absorbs only the pure water from the ocean of vEdAs.

While the ocean of vEdAs was going down, the cloud of

dramidOpanishad went up (in importance). With benevolence being the

sound of thunder, this cloud poured only the pure and essential

knowledge.

 

Pearls from the poems:

With the pure and essential knowledge imparted by AzhvAr, we could

easily detach ourselves from worldly quests and become fear-free.
