Abhayapradana Prasannavaradaraja Perumal Temple

 

Renovation and Restoration of Nithyakala poojas

 

Vangal Village is situated on the southern bank of Aganda Cauvery

River at a distance of about 10 kilometers from Karur town.

The above said temple is in existence for more than three centuries

at Vangal Agraharam..It is believed that Sri Ramakrishna Muthuveera

Bhupalan, a ruler, from Madurai Nayakar Dynasty built it.

 

Fifteen Vaishnavite and Smartha families from Urupattur Village near

Kanchipuram migrated to Vangal Village to look after the temple.

 

Now the temple is in a poor condition needing immediate renovation.

The daily poojas/uthsavams are also not being performed regularly for want of

financial support.

 

The following Renovation work has to be carried out immediately.

 

1) Building a Rajagopuram at the entrance of the temple

2) Proper flooring needed to be done for the mandapams and garbha

graham

3) Construction of pathway around the temple prakaram

4) Repairing of stone pillars (chemicaltreatment)/repair/restoration

of the sannidhi mandapam adjoining the garbha graha.

5) Installation of idols of Visvaksenar, Garudazhvar, other Azhwars

6) Construction of compound wall and painting of the temple

7) Electrification/proper lighting of the temple

8) Fixing of a new temple door (wooden) at the entrance. Now a grill

gate is installed (in a state of repair)

9) Safety locker facility to keep the valuables of the temple.

10) Provision for conducting nithyakala pooja for which a sum of

RS.500/-may be needed per day. (Including fixed expenses such as

salary of archaka and other staff).

 

With the noble intention of restoring the temple to its original

glory, a trust is formed with representatives of different vangal

familes named ` Vangal Heritage Trust`

 

The Objects of the Trust

 

1) To extend financial assistance to build/renovate/meet the expenses

for Nithyakala poojas/conduct temple uthsavams/samprokshanam/other

activities such as veda parayanam etc.

 

2) To extend financial assistance the deserving cases for (a) medical

care including hospitalisation, cost of medicines/lab expenses and

other expenses incidental to the treatment. (b) Educational purpose

including tuition fees, cost of book, hostel expenses, other

activities such as music, dance etc© Performance of marriage,

upanayanam and such other functions. (d) Other social/religious

functions.

 

3) To endow memorial scholarship/prizes for deserving meritorious

students for school/college/other institution studies.

 

4) To assist and donate to social and community functions.

 

5) To contribute to any Institution/Organization, caring for

disabled/old/orphans.

 

6) To render any other assistance to the community either directly or

in association with other institutions with similar objectives.

effort by substantial financial help.
