((tirumaDaippaLLi kaimkaryam was started as early as 6am with SrI. Hari preparing the special paste for `puLiyOdarai' and other SrIvaishNavAs preparing the viSEsha taLigai. `YativaranAr madaippaLLi vanda maNam engaL vArtthaiyuL manniyadE " !)) Recitation of nityAnusandAnam, dESika prabhandam and bhagavat ArAdanam were all started at around 9am. It was nice to see that as many as 16 SALagrAma mUrtis and SrInrusimha perumAL were present there to honour the greatest of AchAryAs we ever had. (As put by SrImath Azhagiya singar during a discourse in Bangalore last week, had svAmi dESika done his works in English, yesterday would have been `dESika day' throughout the world.) Special Treats: 1)AlankAram was a treat to the eyes. Vijayalakshmi Hari (wonderful to hear raghuveera gadyam set in raga mAlikai), sby.Harini Madhavakkannan(melodiously sent us to SrIrangam), smt.Geeta mami, SrI.Madhavakkannan svAmi, SrI.Vijayaraghavan (SEshagopalan sAyal), which was followed by the recitation of svAmi dESikA's ubhaya mozhi prabhandams, upanyAsam/talks and dESika stOtra pATams. `Chandamigu tamizh maRaiyOn' upanyAsam by SrI.Hari wonderfully reflected the affection, svAmi dESikan had in tamizh maRaigaL. SrI.Vijayakumar's talk on chillarai rahasyams drove the point to everybody – one must attend these precious grantAs in kAlakshEpam. The special talk by SrI.Madhavakkannan svAmi on `piLLai antAdi' was like a garland of pearls in sweet and simple English. A 12 hours of memorable events!!!
