4th pattam Azhagiyasingar Brindavanam

Dear Sri Mutt sishyas/abhimanis

 

I would like to bring to your notice the Brindava kainkarayam for 4th pattam

Azhagiyasingar Sri Srinivasa Yathindra Maha Desikan. This Ahagiyasingar camped

at Singargudi near Pondicherry twice for about six months. There is a Nrisimhan

sannidhi (with ten hands) also. During the second sanchram Srimath

Azhagiyasingar became very weak and prayed to Sri Lakshmi Nrisimhan to show him

the successor. Sri Lakshmi Nrisimhan appeared in the dream and directed this

Azhagiyasingar to appoint Sri Krishnamachari as the next Azhagiyasingar.

Similarly Sri Nrisimhan appeared in Sri Krishanamachari's dream and directed him

to proceed to Singargudi to take over the reins of the mutt and he became the

5th Azhagiyasingar Sri Sarvathanthra Swanthra Sathakopa Yateendra Maha Desikan.

4th pattam Azhagiyasingar ascended to paramapadam at this place on the banks of

Agnitheertham at Singarguidi during 1493.

 

 

As per the thiru uLLam of prakrutham Azhagiyasingar, Brindavanam is being

constructed. The land was acquired from Tamilnadu government and the brindavana

garbagraham has been raised to the level of fixing kalasam. Atleast 2 lakhs

rupees is required to complete this project. I met Sri Vijayaraghavachari at

Selaiyur who is leading this effort. This great bhagavatha is 85 years old.

Interestingly he is not a disciple of Sri Ahobila Mutt. Sri Nrisimhan appeared

in his dream and ordered him to complete the Brindavanam.
