He has kept, in the world itself, those objects that make us think of Him. “oozhikaLAy ulakEzhum uNdAn enrilam, pazhankaNdu AzhikaLAm pazha vaNNam enRERku ahthE koNdu annai nAzh ivaLO! Ennum, j~nAlamuNdAn vaNNam colliRRu ennum! thOzhikaLO uraiyeer, emmai ammanai choozhkinRavE!” (I did not mention openly the name or the greatness or the job of my Lord, Who rules the Time and Who kept all the worlds in His stomach. But, on seeing a black fruit, when I just mentioned without any intention, that its colour is like that of the ocean, my mother has taken my words very seriously and complains, ‘This girl doesn’t listen to me; she does things on her own with arrogance; and she describes it as the colour of the Lord Who swallowed the world!’ Oh friends! Please clarify why my mother thinks wrongly of me.) [“kaLA pazham” -- a small black edible fruit] 72. He has the Tulasi garland which mitigates the insatiable desire that turns even the things like the pleasant crescent moon, into irritable items. “choozhkinRa kankul churunkA iruLin karum thiNimbai pOzhkinRa thinkaLam piLLaiyum pOzhka, thuzhAy malarkkE thAzhkinRa nenjatthoru thamiyAttiyEn mAmaikku inRu vAzhkinRavARu ithuvO? vanthu thOnRiRRu vAliyathE.” (Leave the beautiful, pleasant crescent moon, which breaks the utter darkness of this night! [Let it break me too!] This moon is irritable and blackens my skin’s colour, when I am suffering lonely because of my mind is obsessed with the thought of the Tulasi garland of the Lord.) 73. He possesses the vigorous Discus which will conquer all the seven worlds for the sake a devotee who is mad after Him. “chudaradal AzhippirAn pozhil EzhaLikkum cAlbin thakaimai kolAm? thamiyAtti thaLarnthathuvE.” (This Lady-love feels desperate. Is it the way the Lord, Who has the bright and vigorous Discus [on His hands], to protect the seven worlds?) 74. Only for that sake, He is resting on the Milky Ocean; has swallowed the world; lifted the Govardana hill; and has the Tulasi garland on His crown. “varuthiraip pAyal thirunedunkaN vaLarnthu maRivuRRum vaiyam vizhunkiyum mAlvaraiyaik kiLarnthu maRitharak keeNdeduthAn mudi choodu thuzhAi.” (He rests on the wavy ocean, closing His beautiful lengthy eyes, but is aware of everything; He swallows the worlds; He also lifted the big hill, turned it up-side-down, and held it as an umbrella; and is adorning the Tulasi garland on His crown.) 75. He gives such devotees the Bliss of SrIvaikuNta life in this world itself. “ ammAn adiyAr nilAkinRa vaikuNthamO num nilaiyidamE?” (Is this world Your living place? Or SrIvaikuNta of the Lord, where live the liberated and the nitya sooris?) (To continue) dAsan Anbil S.
