PaarTiva Year is the 19th year in the Jupiter's cycle of 60 Years .

The Next year in this cycle is Viyaya .

 

The Name PaarTiva ( masculine gender ) is derived from PruTvee ,

the Earth ( Medhini , Vasundhara , Sarvam Sahaa , BhUmi DEvi) .

 

PaarTiva means relating to Earth or the Lord of the Earth . Thus , PaarTiva

SrEshtA means the best among Kings : Chakravarthy Thirumahan ,

Lord Raamachandra is that PaarTiva SrEshtan . PaarTiva Suthaa refers to

the King's daughter : Janaka Maha RAjA's Daughter , SithA Piratti .

 

When we think of the new year , PaarTiva , both Lord Raamachandra and

His Divine Consort Jaanaki fill our minds .The SlOkams of Swamy ParAsara

right hand under His head and His left hand near His hip . He rests under the

PraNavAkAra VimAnam of the Srirangam Temple encircled by seven courtyards. His

feet are being gently

pressed by SrI and BhU Devis during His yoganidhrA at His temple situated in

the central region of KaavEri delta.

 

Lord RanganAthA's Temple in Pomona , N.Y.observes all Uthsavams and anushtAnams

as at Srirangam temple including the use of PanchAngam computed by JyOsyar ,
