Dear Malolan

The acts of Kanchi math is not ending there. Recently Sri. Jayendra saraswati

has played some unusual role in Tirumala also. First he asked Thrithandi Chinna

Jeeyar to not interfere in Vikanasa Agama while questioning the removal of 1000

pillar madap and also the first veethi houses that were commenced at the time of

Sri. Ramanuja. Also I heard, JS went inside the temple and asked to remove the

Shanghu and Chakram of Moolavar in order to verify the moorthy and the Bhattars

co-operated. Since this math is strongly propagating it is Shakthi temple

because of Lion on the sanctum top instead of Garuda.

Sri

Some 'interesting' claims by the Kanchi Matha:

--------

Sri Vidyateerthendra Saraswati : He was the son of one Sarangapani, a native of

Bilvaranya. His pre-sanyasa name was Sarvajna Vishnu. Sayana, commentator of the

Vedas, Madhava (later Vidyaranyaswami), **Vedanta Desika, the Vaisnava

scholar**, and Bharati Krisna Tirtha, were all pupils of Vidya Tirtha. After

reigning at the Kanchi Math for 73 years, he went to the Himalayas to perform

tapas. After spending 15 years in tapas, he attained videha mukti there on Sukla

Prathama in the month of Magha of the cyclic year Raktakshi (1385 AD).

---------

Sri Vidyateerthendra Saraswathi is supposedly the 51st Acharya of the Kanchi

Kamakoti Peetham. Please note that it is a fiction to claim that the Kanchi

Peetham even existed prior to 1820 CE.

None of the biographies or hagiographies of Desikar claim this and now we have

the Kanchi Matham making unprecedented claims!

Dear Malolan :

This is an outlandish claim that is not supported by

any records . VidhyAraNya BHarathi was a prominent Sringeri Matam

AchArya .Sringeri Matam does not even accept the claim

of Kaanchi lineage of AchAryAs as a seperate entity .

They have a lot to argue about that .

Meanwhile , VidhyAraNya was a Baalya SnEhithar of

Swamy Desikan and has the higfhest regard for Swamy

Desikan's scholarship and AchAra-anushtAnams .

While VidhyAraNya held a high post(Raaja Guru) in the royal court of

Vijaya Nagara King s, he wanted to help his Baalya SnEhithar with a court

post

so that Swamy Desikan can prosper in a Material sense . Swamy Desikan

was performing Unchavrutthi for sustaining Himself and HIs family

at that time .He sent an emissary from the royal court and a note to

Swamy Desikan to come and join the royal court and become

an AasthAna VidhvAn . Out of his VairAgyam and deepest Bhakthi

for Lord VaradarAjan of Kaanchi ( His Kula dhanam) , Swamy

Desikan rejected politely the invitation and the famous VairAgya

Panchakam came into being as his (Swamy Desikan's) response .

Please see the following URL for details on the origin of VairAghya

Panchakam

and the background for this Sri Sookthi :

http://www.sundarasimham.org

It might be the 14th e-book in the series and also has

a detailed account of the just concluded PurattAsi SravaNa

MangaLAsAsanam of Lord VaradarAjan by Sw amy Desikan .

Sri Suresh:

This is expected behaviour. By concocting history, the Kanchi Matha

also took over the Kamakshi Amman temple. It engages in a deliberate

campaign of disinformation to enchance it's status.

Malolan
