Guest guest
SrI: NamO NarayanA Dear Sri Vaishnavas: AdiyEn writes this mail with a thought. We all celebrate birthdays and more importantly our little children celebrate their birthday on the English dates. (with new dress and chocolates for classmates and teachers in school). AdiyEn's suggestion is that we ensure that we celebrate ONLY Nakshatram birthdays for the children and tell them the significance of the Nakshatram. This will help in the little ones registering the Tamil month names and the Nakshatram. Sharing sweets and cutting cake was a practice we inculcated from the west, but atleast we can ensure we do this on their Nakshatram dates rather than a date which is referred as AD. Once the children grow up with the appreciation for their Nakshatram, the respect for Thiru Nakshatrams of our Acharya, Azhwars and Sriman Narayana will automatically be inculcated. This will lead of enjoying the Acharya, Azhwar and Sriman Narayana and celebrating respective Thiru Nakshartrams. dAsan Srimad Azhagia Singar Thiruvadi
