My thought is centered round the pair of thighs of

the Lord Ranganatha, ever young, which can be considered as stable plantain

trees in the garden of Manmatha, wrapped in pithambara, serves as the pillow of

rest for Sri, Bhoo and Neelaadevis, beautiful with the lustre of the girdle the

rays of which falls down on them and appear like two streams of beauty coming

from the rest of His limbs.

maamikaa mathiH - my thought

nirvisathi- enters into , meaning engrossed in,

ooru yugamam- pair of thighs

rangayoonaH- Ranga who is always

young, nithya yuvaa as Desika calls the Lord elsewhere,

sambhaavaneeyam- which could be

considered as

kaamaaraamasThirakadhalikaasThambha- the stable, sThira stem,

sthambha, ofplantain trees , kadhalikaa, in the garden, aaraama, of kaama, Manmatha , The thighs are normally compared to

plantain tree stem in poetry. If Manmatha were yo grow agarden the plrntain

trees in his garden can only be compared to the thighs of the Lord and not vice

versa. They are said to be stable plantain trees that do not whither after

giving fruit or fall down by great wind.

kshoumaSlishtam- clad in yellow silk,

pithambara, Slishtam means clinging, Pitambara of the Lord clings to His

middle, covering the thighs.

kimapi

kamalaabhoomi nilopadhaanam- serving somewhat iek the

pillows for Sri, Bhoo and Neelaadevis, that is, when they feel tired pressing

His feet they rest there itself using His thighs as pillows.

nyanchatkaanchi kiraNa ruchiram- rendered beautiful,

ruchiram, by the lustre, kaanthi, of the girdle, kaanchi, on His waist the

rays, kiraNa, of which descend on them,

laavaNyaugha dvayamiva- like two streams of

beauty flowing from the rest of His body.
