Srinivasa Perumal Temple in Ramanuja Puram

 

 

Adiyen had the opportunity to visit this temple with family, this temple is 8 to 10 Kms off Bangalore-Mysore Highway in Channapatna Taluk

 

This township established by our Udayavar when he was doing Digvijayam of Karnataka. The Vigraham of Lord Srinivasa was done Prathistai by Ramanuja himself. Main person instrumental in setting up this township was Ananthalvan who was doing Pushpa Kainkaryam to Lord Srinivasar as per instruction of of Bhagavath Ramanuja. The Moorthy is very small and cute.

 

First as you enter the village you will find a Kalyani (Pushkarni) which is similar to Melkote one. Then on the banks you will find our VayuPutran .Then you walk 200 metres you will reach the Srinivasa Perumal Koil of Ramanuja Puram . Then the Main Gopuram which was Majestically standing once upon a time is now badly ruined. Then enter the temple on the left side you find our beloved NamAlwar and Lord Ramanuja , then you find cute Srinivasar. There is no Thayar Sannidhi since He is having Thayar in the Vrashasthalam . Perumal Here - Sangu, Chakram ,Vaikuntha Hastam and Kati Hastham thodey Sevai Sathikirar. It is said that Even now during Danur Masam Malai Mariyadai comes from Thirupathi

 

Currently there is only one Iyengar Family ( 92 year old Sriman Narayana Iyengar and his son Sriman Chakrapani (Contact no: 0 9880121623 ) in this Village and takes care of NithyaPadi for this Temple. It is been said that it is difficult for them to perform NithyaPadi as well. This Temple has no Pooja Vessels for Nithya Padi but the said family saved the Sadagopan(Satari) made and used by Lord Ramanuja which is still in Use and Lord Ramanuja’s Thirupadukai.

 

It is said that this Temple has lost all the Lands because of Encroachment by the public and to stop this further and renovate, All Bhagavathas/Vaishnavas have to join hands and Seek the blessing of Srinivasar by renovating this Temple. Indeed there is no electricity, no compound wall....
