Update on Tiru Anbil Kainkaryams

Dear Bhagavatas:

 

Kindly recall my posting on the Kainkaryams at Tiru Anbil (Dwajasthamabam

copper

plating, PavitrOtsavam, BrahmOtsavam etc) which His Holiness Gopala Desika

Maha

Desikan of Poundarikapuram Swami Asramam had commanded us to attend to.

 

Efforts are being made to carry out his command. Sri Sriram,an

Industrialist at Chennai is attending to the preliminaries.

I am forwarding the correspondence with him on the subject for your kind

information.

 

As a first step, he has sent a few nice photographs of Tiru Anbil PerumaaL,

Thaayaar and Andal (in sitting posture - a rare phenomenon). Sri

Sampathkumar

Padmanabhan, our Atlanta member (who designed the cover page of the " Myths "

book) has kindly uploaded these Photos in the Photos section of " Sri Ranga

Sri " .

 

Our heartfelt thanks are due to both Sri Sriram and Sri Sampathkumar for

their

efforts.

 

I will be updating the progress as and when more information is received.

 

Meanwhile, further sale proceeds of my books " Hinduism Rediscovered " and

" Myths,

Miracles and Mysticism in Hinduism” will be earmarked for the above

Kainkaryams.

 

Please spread the word around, acquire copies for yourselves (if not already

done) and encourage your friends and relatives to acquire copies with a view

to

help the noble cause.

The marked price for " Hinduism " book is Rs.480/= and for " Myths " book Rs.

in India (i.e) Total=Rs.555/=.

 

But, a discount of 10% of the price will be offered to those who place

Dear Swamin,

 

Adiyen had the baghyam of having darshan at Thiru Anbil on Wednesday,

September 14, 2005. It was an occasion where in " velli kreedam " and " velli

Abhayahastham " for Moolavar Sri Vadivazhagiya Nambi were presented by the

grandsons on Anbil Periyapannai Late Sriman A. S. Rajagopala Iyengar.

 

Adiyen has attached some pictures for Swamin. If deemed fit Swamin shall

upload

the pictures for the benefit of Sri Ranga Sri members.

 

I have also attached a picture of Utsavar Sri Andal.

Please find the picture of Andal Utsavar.

 

I shall revert to you on the formation of the trust as well as the other

details

sought for.

 

In the meantime, Sri ASR Swamin's family wants to present a Velli kreetam

for

Moolavar-Thayar.

 

Anbil Ravi, grandson of ASR Swami who lives in USA has also consented to

lead

the kainkaryam for presenting " kavacham " (on the rear side) to Utsavar

Sundararaja Perumal.
