VIDAYATRU UTSAVAM: PUSHPA YAGNAM :SPVST SABHA AT SRI AHOBILA MUTT,CHEMBUR

Almost everyday there was a festival at Sri Ahobila Mutt Temple, Chembur

,Mumbai since20 Apr 2007. On Akshyathithi( 20 APR ), Udaya Garuda Seva

took place The whole day the Lord gave darshan to his devotees in Garuda

Vahana. Sri Ramanuja Jayanthi was conducted on 22 Apr 07.Sevakalam and

Mangalasasanam to the Acharyan were the highlights. The 10 Day "

Narasimha Jayanthi Mahotsavam started on21 Apr 2007. Everyday

Thirumanjanam to Utsavar was performed amidst Veda Parayanam and Divya

Prapanda recitation. Lord Prahalada Varadan Thiruveedhi procession in

different Vahanas was held. Thanks to the untiring efforts of members of

Sri Prahalada Varadan Sripadam Thangigal Sabha , during the mada veedhi

procession ,the Lord was carried on their shoulders everyday. The SPVST

Sabha as they are poopulary known organised as their Ubhayam, the

Vidayatru Utsavam on 2 May 07. ' Pushpa Yagnam " was held in the

evening.At the commencement Mahavidvan Payampadi Sri Srivatsangachariar

gave a discourse on Pushpa Yagnam, highlighting which flowers are

suitable to Him during Thiruaradhanam at home or in temples. He also

further added how the flowers are to be plucked. handeled, and they need

to be fresh. The Pushpa Yagnam is an annual festival done by the SPVST

Sabha. It was a visual treat to see every deity in the temple was

almost immersed with different varieties of flowers. The day's event

concluded with Pushpa Vahanam Sevai that adorned the Lord Sri Prahalada

Varadan with his concerts and taken around the peria veedhi of Chembur.

On this occasion the Sabha honoured the aradhagars,kainkaryaparakars
