SS-53 (Fragrances)

tamizhil maRaimuDi tangum tuLabam *

kamazha vakuLamuDan kAttAr – amizhdiLai

yAzhvAr maDaippaLLi ArmaNattAl kAttadumnam *

AzhvAr aLavillA anbu.

 

Eternally there is the fragrance of tuLasI at the head of vEdAs –-

the vEdAntAs -- which bear the lotus feet of SrImannArAyaNA. This

fragrance was expounded by AzhvAr, whose SrIsUktis are filled with

the fragrance of vakuLam flowers.

This fragrance and the fragrance of the tirumaDaippaLLi of bhagavat

rAmAnujar were saved fully by svAmi dESikan in his SrIsUktis. This

is only by the munificence of nammAzhvAr.

eNNAden vAzhvenba dEdu.

 

Those taking refuge at the sweet feet of AzhvAr, can not miss to

appreciate and meditate on the benevolence of AzhvAr, his grace in

accepting us at his tiruvaDi, beauty of his divine body, his

outpourings filled with bhagavatAnubhavam, his longing for

SrIkrishNA and other innumerable divine characteristics of

nammAzhvAr.

AzhvAr's SrIsUktis are filled with divine fragrance and he himself

is a personification of all kalyANa guNAs.
