Guest guest
SrI: adiyEn would like to bring to your attention an important book released by Srimath Azhagiyasingar during the Sohattur sancharam earlier this week. This is the second book released by the Parankushachar Institute of Vedic Studies. The earlier one was a commemorative souvenir. Here is a brief note on the book. adiyEn Diwakar Published By: Parankushachar Institute of Vedic Studies (Regd), ‘Parankusha Kripa’, 722, 5th D Cross, H.R.B.R. 2nd Block, Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore 560043. Ph. 080-25433239. A treatise on the Taittireeya Samhita of Krshna Yajur Veda, wherein nuances of word splitting with accents and clarifications of ambiguous euphonic combinations during pada and other vikrti forms of recitation like Krama, Jata, Ghana etc. are spelt out considering seven important kinds of ambiguities. This book, though a must for anyone to master the branch of Taittirreya, has not been available for long after it was first published with a Sanskrit Commentary in 1918 from Kumbhakonam in Grantha characters and only the original in Telugu script the same year. Both of these are clearly not accessible by modern day students and scholars. The author, having studied the text with great detail from the Late Sri U.Ve.Sohattur SalakshanaGhanapaathi, MahaVidvan Parankushacharya Swami, over three decades ago, has rendered the same into Devanagari with many enhancements like adding accents to examples, providing reference to locations in the Vedic text, writing a computer program to verify/find all examples and counterexamples, with indices to words, slokas and sutras etc. and enriched the text with theoretical discussions also. This was relesed as the first offering from the Trust established in the memory of his father, mentor and preceptor with devotion commemorating his birth cenetenary on 5.2.2006 by HH Sri Van Satakopa Sri Narayana Yatindra Mahadesikan, the 45th pontiff of Sri Ahobila Mutt at Sohattur village. This is also available as an e-book and the computer programs can also be utilised by researchers for acdemic purposes. These are very welcome additions to Vedic scholars, students, researchers, traditional Veda pathashalas, Libraries etc. Both the books are available for a discounted price if bought together. 1. PURNA-KUMBHA – Birth centenary Commemorative Souvenir of Late Sri U. Ve. Sohattur SalakshanaGhanapaathi, MahaVidvan Parankushacharya Swami. Price. Rs. 100/-. Postage Extra. 2. Saptalakshana-Parishkara – By. Dr. P. Ramanujan. Price Rs. 200/-. Postage Extra. [both books would be available for Rs. 250/- if bought together].
