Today is DhvAdasi day and 250 SishyAs and abhimAnis visited SelayUr Sri Matam

for PerumAL Sevai and DhvAdasi PaaraNai . Acchiddra-AswamEdha-Kaataka ParAyaNams

sponsored by some of you took place. PaahdukA Thirumanjanam

and Sri Paadha Teertham sveekaraNam were enjoyed by the SishyAs .

 

Upcoming Two AchArya Thriukshatram celebrations at Selayur , Chennai

 

Srimad DevanArvilagam Azhagiya Singar's and Prakrutam Srimad Azhagiya Singars'

Thirunakshatrams will be celebrated on Dec 2 and Dec 7 respectively . Dec 2 is

Kaartikai PoorAdam and Dec 7 is Kaartikai UttirattAdhi.

 

There will be Veda PaarAyaNams and Dhivya Prabhandha GhOshti kaimkaryams from

Nov 27-Dec 1 for Srimad DevanArviLAgam Azhagiya Singar and similar PaarAyaNams

from Dec 2 to Dec7 for Prakrutham Srimad Azhagiya Singar .

 

You are all welcomed to attend these Utsavams & PaarAyaNams .

December 3,2008 : A Special Day at SrI Matam

 

On Dec 3 , a new Gold Mantapam will be the new abode of MalOlan , Dolai KaNNan

and other AarAdhana Moorthys of SrI Matam . The new Gold Mantapam will repalce

the Silver Mantapam that has been in use for One Hundred years .

 

Please visit SrI Matam on Dec 3 , when Srimad Azhagiya Singar will perform the

First Abhigamana AarAdhanam for MalOlan in the new Golden Mantapam . It is a

historic occasion.

The ways for SishyAs to support Srimad Azhagiya Singar & SrI Matam Kaimkaryams

on anongoing basis

Number of you have asked me how to support Sri Matam's activities on a long term

basis in addition to supporting special events . Here are some suggestions :

 

(1) Dawn to Dusk sponsorship daily for the three AarAdhanams for MalOlan ,

TadhyArAdhanam and Bikshai for Srimad Azhagiya Singar. The three AarAdhanams

are (a) abhigamanam soon after dawn done by Srimad Azhagiya Singar (b) Ijyai at

Noon done by Sannidhi AarAdhakar and © Paanaka AarAdhanam at dusk by the

sannidhi

AarAdhakar .

 

One Family can support all of the above Kaimkaryams for a day ; the estimated

total cost is 10,000 Rs ( $200) per day on week days ; during the week ends and

DhvAdasi days , lot more sishyAs visit the Matam and therefore the sponsorship

cost would be Rs.15,000 ($300) to accomodate the expanded TadhiyArAdhanams .

 

The expenses for the Abhigamanam , Ijyai and Paanaka AarAdhanams are Rs.3,000 ,

Rs.5,000 and Rs.2,000 respectively adding upto Rs.10,000 for one day sponsorship

of all the three AarAdhanams and the day's TadhiyArAdhanam .

 

You can select any day in the year that is important to you such as your

birthday ,

Wedding anniversary , Children's/wife's birthdays , Parent's ShastiyaBdhi and

SatAbhishEkams , SamAsraya/BharanyAsam anniversaries of anyof the Family members

et al .

 

All the funds donated to Sri Matam both here (overseas) and India are Tax

2) Veda PaarAyaNam on EkAdasi-DhvAdasi days ( 26 sets per year)

 

$80 is the sponsorship amount needed for Veda ViNNappam for Malolan on these

special days of the year . Sponsorships are open from 2009 Sri VaikunTha

EkAdasi.

 

3) Svathi Thirumanjanams for MalOLan & Doali KaNNan

 

$125 is the sponsorship amount needed for each of these sacred Thirumanjanams .

The first available sponsorship date is Novemebr 2009 .

 

4) Annual ChAthurmAsyam : 60 days of ChArhurmAsyam have been covered by

Sri Matam SishyAs every year for the Past four years . The opportunities for

sponsorship for one or more days will continue in 2009 and beyond as well .

July middle to September Middle is the ChAthurmAsyam period.

 

5) Membership for the two Sri Nrisimha PriyA Journals

 

The monthly journals of Sri Matam are in Tamil and English . The Tamil version

goes back to 1942 and the English version was started in the year 2001. The

annual

subscription fees are $50 each and you can enroll from the Ahobila Matam Home

Pages . A DVD consisting of all issues from 1945-2005 is available for you to

acquire and the DVD Version of the English Version will be released on DEc

7,2008 . Please

6) The Granite acquaduct to bring BhavanAsini Water to upper Ahobilam : The

funds have been assembled for completion of this Kaimkaryam .

 

7) VedAnta VaavadhUka Villivalam Sriman NaarAyaNAcchAr Swamy Trust:

Villivalam Periya Swamy is the other name for Sriman NaarAyaNAcchAr Swamy ,

who played key role in advancing the mission and goals of Sri Matam . He is the

PoorvAsrama JyEshta BrAthA of prakrutham Srimad Azhagiya Singar . Every year ,

his Thirunakshatram is celebrated and a Vidvat Sadas is assembled to honor his
