In the true andhaati format , this Paayiram starts with the last word "Vaikal" of the previous Paayiram . Paayiram 14: Vaikal Kavi-Vaadhi singamaRayavarai kai kalanthu nAmam karutinAl -seykarumam yeethu oppathu illai ingu ippadiyE angam yena saathu sanam kAttum sathir Kavi Vaadhi singa-maRayavarai vaikal kai kalanthu nAmam karutinAl= If we could offer daily our praNAmams with folded hands to the great AchAryan ( Swamy Desikan) , who describes Himself as the Lion among the poets and logicians and as the One rooted in the VedAs ( santa mihu Tamizh MaRayOn) and if we could recite His nAmAs with our tongues and reflect on His auspicious guNams in our minds , Yeethu oppathu sey Karumam illai= If we were to follow the above observances , there is no act that is loftier than these . inghu ippadiyE saadhu sanam angamyena kAttum sathir= In this earth , such acts of revering one's AchAryan are considered as noble and appropriate conduct for the righteous ones . These acts ennoble the svaroopam of VaishNavAs /BhagavathAs. Comments: Swamy Desikan has been awarded the titles of Kavi Taarkika Simham in view of the high reverence that the poets and logicians had for Sawmy Desikan . He was also the Master of Tamil and Sanskritic Vedams ( santa mihu Tamizh MaRayOn). We should always worship this caring and generous AchAryan every day, sing the glory of His names and have Him reside in our heart lotus . Mannappa IyengAr's upadEsam to us is linked to Andal"s upadEsam on how we should revere Lord KrishNa : " thAyai kudal ViLakkam seytha DhAmOdharanai thUyOmAi vanthu nAmm thUmalar thUvit-thozhuthu , vaayinAl pAdi manathinAl chinthikka" . Andal instructs us that we should offer flowers at the sacred feet of the Lord , prostrate before Him , recite His sahasra Naamams and always meditate on His anantha KalyANa guNams . Mannappa IyengAr echos the thoughts of Andal and states that we should follow the same methodologies to honor Swamy Desikan and that latter is even more important for us than the Lord . Those who observe these methods of worshipping Swamy Desikan are described as the true bhAgavathAs /VaishNavAs.That ennobles them and adds lustre to their svaroopams ( inherent nature). The poet concludes that worship of Swamy Desikan by body , tongue and mind is the right and clever way for His sishyAs.
