16th pattam sohaththur azhagiyasingar (09.01.09)

Dear Srivaishnavas,

With 16th pattam's azhagiyasingar's thirunakshatra reminder, we would have

covered all azhagiyasingars (1 year cylcle). Thanks for giving this opportunity

to reflect on all the azhagiyasingars' vaibhavams. Many Srimatam sishyas wrote

to adiyen to bring the reminder 1 or two days before the actual thirunakshtra

dinam. This helped them to chant azhagiyasingar(s) taniyan during morning

Aradnam and reflect on Their vaibhavam. In future, we may use the Calendar

feature of the group to get a reminder mail.

Appearing in Sohatthur near kanchipuram, Sri Sathakpa yatindra mahadesikan

ascended to Asthanam in kanchipuram after HH Kalyana Veeraraghava yatindra

mahadesikan left for paramapadam.

After Devathiraja perumal mangalasasanam at kanchipuram, azhagiyasingar reached

thiruvahindrapuram and did Devanatha perumal mangalasasanam. A famous scholar

from thirunarayanapuram, SrI Devarajacharya swami took refuge at the feet of

azhagiyasingar; learnt sukshmarthams of grantha chathusthayam and was blessed

with bharasamarpanam.

This swami requested HH for tureeyasramam and was blessed with the same. 'Kesava

Sathakopa jeeyar' was the thirunamam given to him. Witnessing his Paandithyam in

dramida bhaashai, HH asked him to write a vyaakhyaanam for thiruvaaimozhi. SrI

Kesava Satakopa jeeyar did 18,000 padi, which made azhagiyasingar very happy.

Later azhagiyasingar proceeded to thirukkovalur, a few chozha nattu

thiruppathigal and reached thirukkudanthai. Another great scholar Arasanippalai

Kidambi Venkatacharya swami - a vidwathsiromani, who did the grantham

'viswagunaadarsham' - took refuge at azhagiyasingar's thiruvadi and did

granthachathustaya kalakshepam.

After 3+ years of mutt's nirvaham from C.E 1694, azhagiyasingar left for

paramapadam when He was staying in thirukkudanthai.

His taniyan:

kalyANarAghavamune: kR^ipApAtraM dayAnidhim |

sarvashAstrArthatattvajhaM shaThakopamuniM bhaje ||
