Guest guest Posted October 22, 2009 Report Share Posted October 22, 2009 1.7.4 mayarvaRa en manatthE manninaan thannai uyarvinaiyE tharum oN sudarkattRaiyai ayarvil amarargaL aadhikkozhundhai en isaivinai en solli yaan viduvEnO How can I leave Him, who entered my mind and removed my ignorance, and continues to give higher and higher fruits of jnana and bhakthi and who is the mass of light and the first cause of the nithya suris who never cease to remember Him, and who is the love of my life. mayarvu is the ignorance which cause delusion that makes us believe that the world is the reality and to undergo joy and sorrow alternatively. aRa en manantthE manninaan- "The Lord entered my heart," says Azvar, and hence the ignorance is removed. thannai enna solli yaan viduvEno- "How can I let Him go,: says Azvar, en iSaivinai- Him who is the love of my life. uyarvinaiyE tharum- He has not only removed the ignorance but also has given the wisdom and devotion so that one will not lapseback into ignorance again. oN sudar kattRai- the Lord is the beautiful mass of light, thejo maya, as Sanjaya says on seeing the visvarupa of the Lord in 11th chapter of Gita, dhivi sooryasaharasya bhaveth yugapath utThithaa yadhi bhaaH sadhrSee saa syaath bhaasasthasya mahaathmanaH "If a thousand suns rise simultaneously, that alone will be comparable to the brilliance of the Lord." ayarvu il amarar – the word amarar here does not mean the devas in general but the nithyasooris , eternal beings who are always with the Lord, like Sesha, Garuda, Vishvaksena and others because of the usage ayarvaRa, meaning without loss of memory, that is constant remembrance. aadhikkozhundhu means the origin of the nithyasooris. aadhi denotes that the Lord is the source of them all and kozhundhu implies that He is enjoyed by them always as in the expression aayartham kozhundhu. en solli yaan viduvEno- how can I let Him go? To the doubt that forced by circumstance which are opposed to the experiencing of the Lord one has to give it up, the azvar replies in the next pasuram.
