In the line of the PeetAdhipathis of AhObila Matam , there was a Jeeyar known

as Andal Azhagiya Singar . His Father was the VynathEya amsa )Azhagiya Singar .

As you know , VynathEyar (Garudar) has special significance at Srivilliputthur .

PeriyAzhwAr , the father of ANDAL is also VynathEyAmsar like the 25th Pattam

Azhagiya Singar .

 

ANDAL Azhagiya Singar and VynathEya Azhagiya Singars were the 26th and the 25th

Pattam Azhagiya Singars . They were son and Father respectively in PoorvAsramam.

 

ANDAL Azhagiya Singar ( Pattam 1811-1828 C.E) was born on Aadi Pooram .

This Azhagiya Singar had the ParipoorNa anugraham of ANDAL of SrivilliputthUr .

He spent a few years at SrivilliputthUr worshipping ANDAL and RangamannAr

( Please see the picture of ANDAL and RangamannAr inside the VeLLi Mantapam

at Ahobila Matam . This Silver Mantapam was presented to this Azhagiya Singar

by Mysore Mahaa RaajA , Sri KrishNa Raaja KaNDeerava Saarvabhouman during

his stay at Melkote/Mysore . The Golden Dolai that we see today inside the

Silver

Mantapam for Malolan was also presented by this Mahaa Raajaa of Mysore .

 

As we celebrate the Andal Thirunakshathram at SriviliputthUr with the NaachiyAr

Thirumozhi Dance drama on Aug 3 & the Mutthangi SamarpaNam for ANDAL

on Aug 8 , our reverence-filled thoughts go back to the two illustrious Azhagiya

Sungars ,

who adorned the 25th and 26th Pattam at Sri Matam and Prakrutham Azhagiya

Singar

who is performing NithyArAdhanam for MalOlan , Dolai KaNNan , Sri Ranga MannAr

SamEtha Sri ANDAL and all other sacred Moorthyas inside the VeLLi Mantapam .
