Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

On his Thirunakshathram today, let us pray obeisance to third of the Great

MudhalAzhwAr's, pEyAzhwAr, who was a parama bhakthA of Sriman NarayaNa. He

composed MoonRam thiruvandhAdhi, hundred pAsurams after being blessed with

Thiruvikraman's ThirumEni darsanam. He started off with A GRAND

" THIRUKKANDEN PONMENI KANDEN.... " .

 

SeerAru mada thirukkoviloor athauL/ kArAr karu mudhalaik kANappukku/

orAt thirukkaNdEn enRu uRaitha seerAn kazhalE uraikkaNdAi nenjE! ugandhu

 

In the lovely Thirukkoviloor, where the Lord appears with the colour of the

rain bearing clouds, experiencing an intimate closeness and love with Him,

our pEyAzhwAr has given us the pAsurams that start with ThirukkaNdEn pon

mEni kaNdEn.. in antAdi style. By prostrating and meditating on the feet of

this pEyAzhwAr, Oh mind! you can derive ultimate Divine ecstasy.

 

The intensity of our pEyAzhwAr's love and bhakti was such that

without this anubhavam, he would die like a fish out of water. That’s why

perhaps he is called pEy… [mahadhaahvayar]

 

Let us enjoy his pAsuram where he addresses his mind [as we address our mind

in thaniyan above]

Oh my dear mind! even if the Lord is not easy to be realized in His full

glory by meditation , please root yourself in the sankeerthanam of his names

and become tranquil . May you steadfastly praise Him !

why is it that you are distracted to other subjects, when the object of your

dhyAnam, the Lord is so easily accessible to you without separation even

when you think of Him just once ?
