Guest guest
SrI: Swamy Desika BhakthAs : The series of Postings sofar covered 510 Sahasra NaamAs out of the 1008 . We are just half way across . 498 NaamAs remain to be covered .They fall in these 4 large subject categories : 1. Satha DhUshaNi : NaamAs 102-168 (67 NaamAs) 2. Tatthva Muktha KalApam : NamAs 206-399 ( 194 NaamAs) 3. BhAshyams & PaancharAthra RakshA : 493-680 ( 188 NaamAs) 4. ChillaRai RahasyangaL : 721-769 ( 49 NaamAs) Since the first two subject categories are terse , we will start with item 3 & 4 and cover 237 NaamAs first before we go on to Satha dhUshaNi and Tatthva Muktha KalApam . Chillarai RahasyangaL ( NaamAs 721-769) ****************************************************** The three Rahasyams ( Moola Manthram , Dhvayam and Charama SlOkam ) and their meanings have to be understood from AchAryan .The Sri Sookthis expaining the Manthrams and the meanings of the ManthrAs are known as Rahasya granthams . The biggest and most profound Rahasya Grantham blessed to us by Swamy Desikan is known as " Srimath Rahasya Thraya Saaram " . out of His ripe Jn~Anam , Swamy Desikan created Srimath Rahasya Thraya Saaram (SRTS) late in His life . In this SRTS , Swamy Desikan blessed us with the entire range of meanings of the three rahsyams. Prior to the composition of SRTS , Swamy Desikan composed smaller Sri Sookthis on the three rahasyams that would meet the needs of different adhikAris . Swamy Desikan provided rare insights into the meanings of the three rahasyamas at different levels for easy absorption .These Sri Sookthis are collectively known as ChillaRai Rahasyams . Here are the Desika Sahasra Naamams relating to ChillaRai Rahasyams. Let us start with the first of the ChillaRai Rahasyams: SampradhAya Parisuddhi : (721) SampradhAya Parisuddhi sTApithaachArya sathpaTAya nama: (Meaning) : Salutations to Swamy Desikan, who established through SampradhAya Parisuddhi that the auspicious way (SampradhAyam ) of our AchAryAs starting from the Omniscient Lord to prakrutham AchAryAs is the best way to understand correctly the VedAntha arthams . " SamprAdhyA Parisuddhi " is a small chillaRai Rahasyam , where Swamy Desikan establishes resoundingly that our AchArya SampradhAyam starting from Sriman NaarAyaNan to present day AchAryAs is pure and is free from any blemishes . Swamy clears all the doubts that might arise in one's mind on this matter . Hence this chillaRai rahasyam was named " SampradhAya Parisuddhi " . Thirukkudanthai Desikan constructed this NaamA from Swamy Desikan's own statement : " Aasarvajn~Ath asmathAchArya pankthE aprathyUham saTpadham sthApayanthee " . (722) SathsampradhAya - rahitha SaasthrAnaadhara BhOdhakAya nama: (Meaning) : Salutations to Swamy Desikan , who instructed us that we should not accept the SaasthrAs that did not originate from Sath-sampradhAyam . Vedams and PurANams inform us that the VedAnthic meanings should be understood only through SathAchArya SampradhAyam . One should not learn these SaasthrAs by themselves (self-taught mode ) and they have to be learnt only from an AchAryan belonging to Sat h-SampradhAyam . If some one tries to teach himself , he can not comprehend the correct meanings . Even if that person is a genius and can understand the meanings correctly , that knowledge will not benefit him . There will be no clarity in that Jn~Anam obtained in this way . It will not resurrect him from SamsAram . Therefore , Swamy Desikan instructs us that the plain Saasthram without the backing of Sath-SampradhAyam should be discareded .He established that the Saasthra Jn~Anam available to us through the SadAchArya ParamparA alone is superior . (723) SacchAsthra moolAnya sampradhAyaanAdhara BhOdhakAya nama: (Meaning) : Salutations to Swamy Desikan , who taught us that we should not relate to any sampradhAyam other than the Sath-SampradhAyam . Swamy Desikan advocated the view that VedAntha arthams should be learnt only with the help of Sath SampradhAyam . Some people may unite and create a new sampradhAyam without the backing of Bhagavath Saasthrams or those which are antithetical to those Saasthrams . Those kinds of new sampradhAyams will have the defects of misintrepretations of Saasthrams and the dhOsham of deciet to mislead aasthikAs . Therefore these new sampradhAyams outside of the Sath SampradhAyam should be avoided .On matters relating to Iswaran and Moksham , it is not possible for your sensory organs to experience them . On these matters , Saasthrams alone are our pramANams (valid means of knowledge) . Sath SampradhAyam is rooted in Bhagavath Saastrhrams and hence Iswaran MOksham and other related concepts can not be understood through other SampradhAyams . Detailed write up on SampradhAya Parisuddhi is avialbale at the following URL: http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/ebooks/Sampradaya_Parisuddhi The ChillaRai Rahasyam overview is also available at URL : http://www.Ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/feb98/0104.html Thirukkudanthai Desikan covers the rest of the content of Sampradhya Parisuddhi with four more Sahasra NaamAs .
