SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest all,

After the first four AzhwArs namely, Poigai, bhootha,

Pey and Thirumazhisai Azhwar’s anubhavams, Today’s

verse is the eleventh- the last one of KulasekarAzhwAr

verses on ThiruvEnkatam that we will enjoy

manniyathaN saaral vadavENG kataththaanRan

4.11

Kulasekara – the king who has mastered the art of

conquering the enemies with his sharp spear, has sung

this ten – with an intense desire to see, enjoy the

golden hued, red lotus most beautiful feet of Lord who

has shown himself so gracefully on the mountain of

ThiruvEnkatam, where the soft, chill drizzles of water

falls sprinkle everywhere. Those who have recited

these ten [or read these translations] would be

blessed by the Lord to be well-ripened devotees

[paangaaya patthargaLE].

KualsekarAzhwAr mentions in his phala sruthi that

those who recite these ten would be great bhakthas.

They will be ripened – well qualified, deemed fit to

perform kaimkaryam that pleases the Lord most. He

means to say that the reciters would not have to seek

as AzhwAr sought asking from fish, stork, etc.. The

Lord Himself would grant them what is the best.. –

commentators enjoy..

AzhwAr had beautifully sought for various sthaavara

jangama births (non moving and moving beings] in the

mountain of ThiruvEnkatam. This is also stated by Sri

Azhagiya ManavaLa perumAL Naayanaar [as narrated in

Sri Velukkudi Krishnan upanyasam]- based on Let me

born anything in ThiruvEnkatam.

Anaiya oora punaiya

Adiyum podiyum pada

Parvatha bhavanangaLilE

yEdhEnum onRaauy janikka vENum.

Aniya- AdhisEshan kaimkaryam.. as bed, as seat.. as

His sandals.. [seNraal kudaiyaam, irundhaal

singaasanammam; ninRaam maravadiyaam..]

Oora- Riding on Garuda..

Punaiya- to be worn as garland (be a garland) on the

divine chest of the Lord.. The flowers go to the

corpses; some go to dust; some are blessed to reach

the Lord’s dhivya mangaLa vigraham.

Adiyum podiyum pada- The dust at the feet should touch

us. When Kutti Krishnan jumped into the pond to dance

on Kaalingan head, from the kadhamba tree. Hence the

kadhama tree is so blessed to have got the dust from

His Lotus Feet.

[Thirumangai AzhwAr addresses Mahaa bhali as

“Kaamaruseer avuNan- the asura who is desired after

[be me] as his head was touched by the Lord Himself]

parvatha bhavanangaLil- In the mountains where the

Lord resides, and in the palaces of His or the

residences of Bhaagawathaas’ let me be blessed to be

born there as ANYTHING.

Sri Alavandhaar also mentions that he would rather be

an insect in the residence of a Bhaagawatha [sthothra

Rathnam]

thava daasya sukhaika sanginaam

bhavanEshu asthu api keeta janma mE

idharaavasathEshu maa sma bhoodh

api mE janma chathurmukhAthmanaa [55]

Please bless me to be born as even a small worm at the

thirumaaLigai (house) of Bhaagawatha-

Paramaikaanthin-who are devoted only at Your Lotus

Feet and enjoy only the Lotus Feet of Yours; may I be

born so. BUT PLEASE DO NOT let me be born even as the

Chathur mukha brahmA [the four faced Brahmaa] in the

residence of those who do not consider themselves as

devotees of Yours.

The Bhaagawathaas- are grander and more glorious than

even the rivers like Ganges, Cauveri, etc.. The fruits

of taking holy baths in the sacred rivers- is perhaps

the association with Bhaagawathaas. The white cloth

gets its colour when other colours join the same;

similarly, the sathsangam makes one shine like gold

and be resplendent with Bhakthi for the Lord. Hence

there should be nithya vaasam (permament residence) in

the ThirumaaLigai (residence) of Bhaagawathaas.

Instead of being born as human beings and then have

association with the Bhaagawathas and then leave them

due to some reason, it is even better to be born as

worm in the residence of Bhaagawathas- thereby there

is no chance or avenue to even go out of the house.

Even if it gets crushed inadvertently by Bhagawathas,

it is even grander to die there. During its short

life, there will be at time occasional kataaksham at

those worms by those Bhagawaathas. That itself is

enough. Pasur manushya pakshI vaa- they bless all

beings with benevolent grace.

Instead, even it is equal to the status of Chathur

mukha Brahmaa, OR even given a chance to rule all this

universe as Brahmaa (four faced one) it is still lowly

and will do no good to Athma vichaaram. Also brahmaa’s

life is so long, one needs to suffer and suffer and

suffer with samsaaric affliction. What is the use of

education, wealth, power, fame- when there is no

devotion for Bhagawaan, no detachment (vairAgyam) etc…
