Guest guest
A Vaishnava friend of ours, a sergeant first-class sniper who recently returned from Iraq, told us a story that has inspired us in our attempts to share kirtan with others. When he was in Iraq, he would regularly sing namasankirtanamkirtan at the bases, knowing how soothing repeating God's names can be. Some of the men and women under him took to chanting and listening to kirtans perhaps as a means to center themselves, or perhaps because they simply enjoyed the sound of the DIVINE music.Whatever the reason, something stuck. Our friend, now safe at home, received an email from a soldier still in Iraq. He told the story of how he was driving in a convoy, when an IED went off and the hummer in front of him blew up. Running up to the Hummer he pulled out a soldiers body and started performing CPR but the soldier had passed on. He then noticed that the dead man still had an apple ipod connection in his ear. The music was still playing: a kirtanam from GauraVani.com Hari Sankirtanam helps anyone and everyone and at any place.
