Dear SrIvaishnavas,

 

Srimath Azhagiyasingars's 78th tirunakshatram was celebrated in a grand manner

in Hyderabad, last November.

 

HH's upanyAsam on 'PanchasamskAram and SharaNAgati' was released during that

wonderful occasion.

 

Although aDiyEn is anarhatan to write on this upanyAsam, in order to let many

SrIvaishNavAs know on this important upanyAsam, aDiyEn is writing a short note

on this CD.

 

** Starting with a short introduction on various avaidIka/ vaidIka matams, the

upanyAsam ends with persuading people to undergo pancha-saskAram and panchAnga

bharanyAsam.

 

** Although HH hesitates to use many lowkIka terms such as 'ticket' etc, the

quitessence of the two divine samskArams are explained by handling many lowkIka

examples. (Easy to comprehend for me!!)

 

** Questions such as Who is vaishnava - What are vaishnava lakshaNams - the need

of bhAhya chinnams - the need to realise the relation with the Lord before doing

kaimkaryam etc. are raised by HH and answered with simple lokIka comparisons.

 

** Importance of anushtAnams (such as sandhyAvandanam, prOkshaNam of pushpam/

prasAdams before offering to Lord etc.) are stressed during the course of

upanyAsam.

 

** bhAshaNam on Yama-kimkara samvAdam (VishNu purANam) and its equivalent

pAsuram of tirumazhisai AzhvAr 'tirumbEnmin kaNdeer...' are very interesting.

 

The CD is for everybody.
