Dr. SMS Chari

 

Dr. S.M.Srinivasa Chari ( Dr.SMS Chari)

attained his AachAryan's sacred feet at

the age of 89 on Iyppasi SravaNam day

( November 5,2008) at Los Angeles ,

California . At the time of his passing

away , he was busy editing a new

monograph on Swamy Desikan's

Sri Kosam of Dramidopanishad

Taatparya RatnaavaLi .

 

His revered Acharyan was the late

Ghoshtipuram Sowmyanarayanacchar

Swamy . Dr.Chari had also completed

Kaalkshepams under the late

Putttankottai Srinivasacharya Swami,

and Sri Saragur Varadacharya Swami

and has been commended by many

AchAryas for his prolific and scholarly

contributions to Vedantic literature .

 

Dr.SMS Chari , a highly regarded Sampradhayic

Scholar of Vedanta in general and Bhagavad Raamanuja

siddhantam in particular is an author of many important

and lucid monographs in English covering a wide range of

Vedantic subjects rooted in the commentaries of

Poorvacharyaas . Some of the authoritative

and scholarly books released by Dr.SMS Chari are:

 

(1) Vaishnavism-its Philosophy ,Theology

and Religious discipline (2) Advaita and

Visishtadvaita based on Swamy Desikan's Sata

Dhushani (3) Fundamentals of Visishtadhvaita

in touch with him , whenever he was in USA

and shared with adiyEn about the progress in

the creation of his many of his books .

 

For adiyEn , it is a deep personal loss .
