Guest guest
SrI: Dear Swami Desika BhakthAs : I have attached the imageof the Makara Kanti under construction . Please enjoy this AabharaNam to be presented to Swamy Desikan in few weeks time .adiyEn would like to invite your participation in this Kaimakryam , which should see completion on Sri VaikunTha EkAdasi day this year with the presentation itself scheduled for AnushtAna KuLam day at ThUppul in Mid January . Please contact adiyEn or Sri Satakopa TatachAr ( Desikan Desikan ) copied on this mail regarding your most welcome particpation . Tomorrow is Kaartikai SravaNam , the avatAra Nakshatram of Sri Vedanta DESikar at ThUppul . With SmaraNam of our great AchAryan's Thiruvadi , adiyEn would reflect on the TWO grand philosophical Treatises on the doctrines of VisishtAdhvaita VedAntam as the illustrious successor to AchArya RaamAnujA , KurEsa , NadAthUr AmmAL and Atreya RaamAnuja . One of these Treatises is Tattva Mukta KalApam (TMK) and the Other is AdhikaraNa SaarAvaLi (AS) . Both of them have exposition of the VishishtAdhvaitha VedAntic Doctrines presented in the form of verses in the beautiful Sragdhara Meter . TMK has 500 verses and AS has 562 Verses . TMK is a through exposition of the Doctrines of VishsitAdhvaithA and critical evaluation of other theories including Veda BhAhya Matams like Buddhism , Jainism and other rival schools of thought including Advaitam . AS is limited to the study of Sri BhAshyam ( Brahma Sutra BhAshyam of AchArya RaamAnuja) . TMK is aimed at establishing soundly the VisishtAdhvaita doctrines in an unassailable logical basis rather than on " scriptural authority". AS deals with the VisishtAdhvaitic doctrines rooted in Upanishadic Teachings and Brahma SutrAs and as expounded by AchArya RaamAnuja in His Sri BhAshyam. Tomorrow , we will start with Swamy Desikan's AdhikaraNa SaarAvaLi for which the precocious son of Swamy Desikan , Sri KumAra VaradAchAr and Sri SaThakOpa Raamaanuja Yati of Sri Ahobila Matam (34th Pattam) have written scholarly commentaries : adhikaraNa chintAmaNi and Padha Yojanaa respectively . There are many other commentaries during the past 700 years on Sri BhaAshyam itself by great Scholars . Let us spend some time on the greatness of the Sri Sooktis of Sri Vedantha Desika in the context of the Makara Kanti AbhAraNa nirmANa Kaimkaryam .
