Guest guest
Dear Sri Balaji Narasimhan : Thanks very much for your wonderful tribute to Sri Narasimha BhagavAn and His avathAram . A defining attribute is Narasimha's desire to save His > devotees, even before they call Him, and also to save not only > His devotees, but also their word. Narasimha is renowned for His forgiving attitude, and even > this He depicts without being asked. For example, when Prahalada > asked Him to forgive Hiranyakashipu, Narasimha said that He had > forgiven Hiranyakashipu, and all of his forefathers, up to 21 > generations, stretching back to the previous Kalpa. > > 3. The bravery of Narasimha too is beyond comprehension. The > fact that Hiranyakashipu had a huge army, and was himself > powerful, did not deter Narasimha. Narasimha's kindness extends not just to His devotees, but > also to inanimate matter. This is why He emerged from a lifeless > pillar, and gave this pillar the honour of becoming Brahma's > grandmother. > > 5. His focus too is commendable. After killing Hiranyakashipu, > all the Gods came to worship Him, but He, ignoring everybody, > spent time with Prahalada. To Him, only His devotees matter, and > nobody else. > > 6. Narasimha's standards further rise because He came only to be > worshipped, and not to offer worship to other Gods, as was done > by subsequent avatars like Rama and Krishna. This is very > fitting. When You are the Supreme, whom can You worship anyway? > > 7. Narasimha's desire to be in the company of His devotees is so > great that He is impatient to reside in temples, waiting for His > devotees to come to Him. Therefore, He travels all over the > country with Ayagiyasingar, as if to say, " you don't have to > come to Ahobilam to meet Me, I will personally come and meet you > in your city! " > > 8. In this manner, He forgave Brahma, who was quaking > in fear because it was he who had given such terrible boons to > Hiranyakashipu. > > 9. Narasimha is also the simplest of all the Avatars, and makes > almost no conditions for granting Moksha.
