Dear Sri Vaishnavites

 

There is always a kind of discomfort as to whether as Sri Vaishnavites

do we celebrate " Saraswathi Pooja " . Most of us celebrate it by praying

to the Lord Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevan, armed with the works and pramanam

of Swami Sri Desikan.

 

adiyEn would like to share the anubhavam of a pAsuram of Sri Thirumazhisai

Azhwar. In Azhwar's nAnmugan thiruvandhAdhi work Azhwar clearly establishes

That Sriya:Pathi Sriman Narayanan is the ultimate authority for knowledge.

adiyEn shares this pAsura anubhavam with the gOshti to share and to take

inputs. The pAsuram is as follows:

 

" verpenru vengadam pAdinEn

vEdAkki nirkindrEn; nindru ninaikindren

karkindra nOlvalayil patirundha nOlAtti kElvanAr

kAlvalayil pattirundEn kAnn "

 

---- nAnmugan thiruvandhAdhi, 40th pAsuram

 

adiyEn's understanding of the pAsuram (thanks to Sri Velukkudi Krishnan's

upanyasam Azhwargal kanda Thiruvengadamudayan) as follows:

 

when Azhwar casually mentions verpu (mountain) to refer thiruvengadam

immediately Lord gives me Moksham (veedu). I think how this is possible

and then realize its because of the Lord being the purushan of " nOlAtti "

(nOlAtti kElvanAr) and clearly specifies karkindra nOlvalayil patirundha..

 

Through this pAsuram Azhwar clearly establishes for any learning we need

To seek the feet of PirAtti and it is the Lord Sriya:Pathi Sriman Narayanan

Who is the authority for knowledge.
