Guest guest
SrI: Check the link below for the navarathri uthsavam at Melkote. http://www.pbase.com/svami/yadugiri_nachiyar_viya_navarathri_uthsavam This uthsavam has historical significance. Originally swAmi dEsikan sannidhi was inside the main temple. The Mysore King at the time wanted to build a temple for Sri Renganathan, thus the present swAmi dEsikan sannidhi was built. However Sri Brahmathanthra swAmi advised the King to house swAmi dEsikan inside the new sannidhi. Eversince, thAyAr and perumAL come to swAmi dEsikan sannidhi atleast 140 times in a year on different occasions. During navarAthri thAyAr comes to this sannidhi in a pallakku on all the nine days. swAmi dEsikan performs mangaLAsAsanams to thAyar inside swAmi dEsikan sannidhi. SrI stuthi is recited by the ghOsti. There aren't too many SrI vaishNavAs present who knows SrI stuthi. Bhagavathas who live in and around Bangalore/Mysore should plan to visit here during the uthsavam. In the early 1900 Srivilliputhur Sri Rangachar swAmi visited mElkOte. To his suprise he found out that " rAmAnuja dayA pAthram " was not being recited in the sannidhi. He stayed at mElkOte and taught the taniyan to lots of SrI vaishNavAs. Throughout the year, dadhiyArAdhanam is performed to SrI vaishNava visiting mElkOte. Due to dwindling bank interest rates this scheme is increasing becoming unsustainable. Those who are interested can send their samarpaNams to the address below. Money sent will be used as corpus fund for the dadhiyArAdhanam. Sree Vedantha Deshikar Nithya Thadiyaradana Samithi Melkote, Pandavapura Taluk, Mandya District, Karnataka. This appeal is being sent on the request of Sri T.R. Singlachar swAmi who takes care of swAmi dEsikan sannidhi. He provided most of the above information. adiyEn Diwakar
