Prabhandam- pAsuram 57 & 58 2. Pearls from the poems SS-57 kAppAi aDiyArkkuk kaNNan kazhaloppAik * kOppAi SaTAri kurugUrkO – tUppulaiyep * pAlaikkum sEmamenRu pADimaNit tORRatthaik * kOlamAich chonnar kuRippu. TiruttUppul divyakshEtram is revered as `eppAlaikkum sEmaththadE' by nammAzhvAr in his tiruvirutta divya pAsuram " nAnilam vAikkoNDu… " Thus svAmi dESikan's avatAram was indicated by nammAzhvAr. (Interestingly, this tiruvirruttap pAsuram, its previous one and its succeeding pAsuram - all end with `dE', indicating 'dESikan'???) SS-58 kuRippai madurakavi koNDAdak kaNDAr * poRuppu niyasam polindu – poruppiDa * mAlaruLkoN dAdum aDiyavarAm mAlkaNDai * seelanaruL nURaichchin dittu. Following nammAzhvAr, SrI madurakavi AzhvAr mentions `aruL koNDAdum aDiyavar (inbuRa aruLinAn avvarumaRaiyin poruL)', which clearly points to svAmi dESikan only. SvAmi sung 100 songs on the grace of tiruvEnkaTamuDaiyAn in `dayA Satakam'. Pearls from the poems: Similar to vEda-vyAsa bhagawAn, who indicated the avatAra vaibhavam of svAmi nammAzhvAr, this AzhvAr indicated the avatAram of svAmi dESikan, which would take place 4000 years after him. This is another evidence for the unbroken lineage of our parama vaidIka matam. [saTAri Satakam is one of the many classic works of srI. U.vE. M.S.Hari.] dAsan
