Guest guest
sri: Srimate Srilakshminrisimha Parabrahmane Nama: Srimate Sri Lakshminrisimha Divyapadukasevaka Srivan Satakopa Sri Narayana Yatindra Mahadesikaya nama: namo narayana! This time Ekadasi falls on Sunday March 6th and Dwadasi is on March 7th. This is for everyone, both in India as well as USA. Further, Sravanam falls on Dwadasi day, i.e. March 7th, Monday. However, the observance of Sravana Dwadasi is only for Munithraya Sampradayam, not for Sri Sannidi. This is due to the difference in interpretation of Srivan Satakopa Sri Ranganatha Yatindra Mahadesikan (23rd Srimad Azhagiya Singar) for Sri Sannidi sishyas, and by Sri Gopaladesikan for Munithraiyas. For Munithraiyas, the rule is quite simple, Sravana Dwadasi must be observed if Sravanam and Dwadasi are present together on Dwadasi day. This is so on March 7th. Therefore they must observe Sravana Dwadasi. However, for Sri Sannidhi sishyas, on Dwadasi day, Sravanam must be present in the morning within two nazhigais and in the evening Dwadasi and Sravanam must be present within 6 nazhigais of sunset. In India Sravanam starts only after 2 nazhigais on 7th, the Dwadasi day. Therefore, it is not Sravana Dwadasi in India. In the U.S. Dwadasi and Sravanam are not present within 6 nazhigais of sunset. Therefore, for U.S. also, 7th is not Sravana Dwadasi. Here is what to do: Munithraiyam ------------- Observe Ekadasi on March 6th - may consume palaharam, no rice; Observe Sravana Dwadasi vradam on March 7th; Do paranai on March 8th. Sri Sannidi ----------- Observe Ekadasi on March 6th Do paranai on March 7th -- dileepan srimad azhagiya singar thiruvadi
