Dear AaasthikAs :

 

adiyEn had recieved a lot of inquiries this year about the prayOgams

for the UpAkarmAs for Rg, Yajur and Saama Vedams . adiyEn tried to

respond to those queries to the best of my limited abilities and am pleased

to acknowledge reciept of help from Knowledgable aasthikAs from India

in responding to such queries .

 

Now that the Rg and the Yajur UpAkarmA is over for this year , it occured

to me that a Muktimedia DVD on the performance of UpAkarma in

the SaasthrEic manner for all the three Vedams will be helpful to

the aasthika Communities around the world . This will be similar to

the effort last year that resulted in the creation of the Rg , Yajur and

Saama Veda SandhyAvandhanam DVDs with the help of authorities

(AchAryaas and Bruhaspathy Swamis ) . adiyEn will be donating them

to Sri Ahobila Matam North America for wider distribution for

the interested aastikAs .

 

adiyEn is prepared to initiate this kaimakryam , if there is interest

and support from the aasthikAs in realizing such authentic educational

material . The inclusion of Audio(Svaram) , Text (Sanskrit ) and Images

(demonstrations) are vital to make such a DVD useful as a reference

material for the practioners .

Any Funds left over from the funds raised for this project

after covering the production expenses will be offered as SamarpaNams

to asmath AchAryan , HH Sri VaNN SaThakOpa NaarAyaNa

YathIndhra MahA Desikan as Paadha KaaNikkai for his forthcoming

79th birthday celebrations ( December 12 , 2005 at Bangalore ) .

 

Rg Vedam UpAkarmA will be created with the help of KumbakONam

Rg Veda GhanapAdi Sriman RangarAjan Swamy ; adiyEn will approach

Saama Veda UpAkarmA experts at Srirangam Saama Vedam School

and the plans are for the Yajur Veda UpAkarmA recording to be done

at Chennai under the auspices of Sri Matam GhanapAdi SrikAryam Swamy .

 

The target date for completion of this kaimakryam is December 12 , 2005 ,

the Thirunakshathram of asmath AchAryan , HH Sri NaarAyaNa YathIndhra

MahA Desikan . The venue for release would be Bangalore , where asmath

AchAryan would celebrate His Thirunakshathram celebration with

Veda PaarAyaNam and Koil MaryAdhais .

The Upcoming Saama UpAkarma ( Sep 6, 2005)

adiyEn will prepare Saama UpAkarmA prayOgam and post it

on the net during the next few days since the proposed

DVD for UpAkarma will not be ready in time for this year's

Saama UpAkarma .

 

Three years ago (SvabhAnu AavaNi) , Sri Nrusimha PriyA released

a free booklet on Saama UpAkarma PrayOgam . adiyEn will base

the postings on Saama UpAkarmA on this booklet .

 

It is adiyEn's fervent hope that such a DVD on UpAkarmA for the three

Vedams with AchArya anugraha BhAshaNam , text, image and audio of

UpAkarmA , First Prachnam of the three Vedams and appropriate Ghanam

renderings could be made available as content with your valuable support .

A lot of coordination between here and Vedic experts in India will be

needed .

 

As news of additional interest to this aasthikA community is the rendering

of Purusha Sooktham in Yajur(Krishna , Sukla ) , Rg, Saama ( KOutuma ,

Jaimini , RaaNaayaneeya SaakhAs ) and AtharvaNa veda SamhithAs

as well as Sri Sooktham is making progress . adiyEn will keep you posted on

progresss .
