Guest guest
SrI: Dear Bhagavathas Most of you may be aware that few years ago, under the divine command of Srimath Azhagiyasingar a trust was formed to perform Thirumanjanam in all the 9 shrines at Ahobilam on the day of Swathi. 22nd Nov was the 60th Swathi and a grand 108 kalasa Thirumanjanam was performed at Jwala Sannidhi. adiyEn was forunate enough to be there along with some of my family members. We reached Ahobilam on 21st evening. When we reached Sri PrahalAdhavaradhan sannidhi we had a wonderful sEvai of PerumAL along with His divine consort Amrithavalli ThAyAr. Their thirumuga maNdalam were shining and it seemed They were immensely pleased after the just concluded kalyANa uthsavam. We spent some more time in the sannidhi and saw the pradhOsha kAla ArAdhanam. Next day morning we started around 8am. First we went to Sri Ahobila Nrisimhan sannidhi at upper Ahobilam and proceeded to Sri Jwala Nrisimhan sannidhi. Few elderly bhagavathas joined us. We recited some stothrams of Sri Swami Desikan to keep the spirit high. By the time we reached SrI jwAla Nrisimhan sannidhi couple of bhattars had already arrived and were preparing for Thirumanjanam. Few bhagavthas helped in cutting fruits and few bhagavathas collected firewood for the preparation of " thaLigai " . Those who have visited this shrine will know how difficult will it be to carry all the dravyams for 108 kalasa Thirumanjanam. While we were waiting for the pradhana bhattar to come, someone floated the idea of going to " ugra sthambham " . Since adiyEn had to accompany elders during previous trips there wasn't an opportunity to go to ugra sthambam. For a minute adiyEn prayed Sri Nrisimhan and Srimath Azhagiyasingar and stared to climb. One bhagavatha who came with us is 66 years old and he was an inspiration to rest of us! The path from Jwala Nrisimhan sannidhi to sthambham was very steep. Looking at the vastness of the mountains and the valley on the otherside we were spellbound. It was a great experience to sit there and meditate on Sri Nrisimhan and chant Sri Nrisimha mantram for few mts. Since it was very windy and also getting late for the Thirumanjanam we trekked down. Amazing 100 mts in life to climb to sthambham and return! By the time we went back to Sri jwAlA Nrisimhan sannidhi at 1pm, bhattar completed the hOmam and we were just in time for the Thirumanjanam. Amidst chanting of upanishad it was a treat to the eyes to see the Thirumanajam to our dear Lord. This was the eighth 108 kalasa Thirumajanam at the hills. I should mention here that bhagavathas like Neduntheru Sri Venkatesan and few others have been coming to Ahobilam for the last 60 Swathi Thirumanjanams, i.e. every month for the last five years. Such is their devotion towards PerumAL and Srimath Azagiyasingar. Due to good turnout of bhagavathas sAttrumurai was grand and the entire mountain reverberated. What other place in earth other than Ahobilam is most appropriate to recite " Ongu malai vaazhga ahObilamdhaan vaazhga " ! Parcicharakas had done a wonderful job of preparing good prasadam with limited resoures at the top of the hills, which included KsheerAnnam. You might have seen appeals in Sri Nrisimhapriya about the ongoing footstep construction from Sri mAlOlan sannidhi to Sri jwAla Nrisimhan sannidhi. TVS group has deputed an engineer to look after the constuction. Came to know from the engineer that the revised estimate for the project is about 22 lakhs. Infact it is a humongous project considering the terrain in which the laborers have to bring every single stone, sand, cement. Pl. tell your friends and family members to donate to this project. (As you may know Srimath Adhivan SatakOpa Yatheendra Mahadesikan constructed the footsteps to Thirumala). Some of us were fortunate enough to perform the " ground breaking " for the bridge construction work which is scheduled to be completed in Dec. It was a memorable trip having covered all the shrines and ugra sthambham. namO nArayaNA Diwakar Free Pop-Up Blocker - Get it now http://companion./
