The moment someone says, mElkOte, the dhivya mangaLa vigraham of Chella

Pillai comes to our mind.

 

For the sishyas of SrI ahObila mutt, thirunArAyaNapuram (mElkOte) is of

special significance. This is the avathAra sthalam of the illustrious

founder of SrI ahObila mutt, SrImath AdhivaN sathakOpa swami. The

first Jeer performed several kainkaryams which include rAja gOpuram and

swAmi dEsikan sannidhi at mElkOte, steps for tirumalA etc. He ascended

to the eternal abode of The Lord after sixty years of service to SrI

mAlOlan in this leelA vibUthi.
