Vaishnavan in perilous condition in 13th century--6

When they reached Srirangam temple, there were large number of devotees/sevarthis. The princess decided to mingle with the sevarthis and to go inside the temple to have darshan of her loved Namperumal, as she felt that if noticed by any kainkaryaparal, she will not be allowed to enter the temple. She told this to Pinthodarnthavalli and asked her to follow her. Both of them without any suspicion to anybody crossed " Dwarapalakal" and straight away went to have darshanof Namperumal. At " Kulasekaran padi", the princesswith limitless love murmured " Ranga", " Ranga". The battars who were standing nearby identified " Pinthodarnthavalli" but unable to identify the princess.

Suddenly, the princess disappeared and a spark of lightening speeded up , joined at the lotus feet of " Periya Perumal" and disappeared. There was hue and cry from the sevarthis and exclmation with utmost devotion from the Battars and Pinthodarnthavalli

Even now the princess as " Thulukka Nachchiyar" is there in the 'Arjuna mandap"

The news that the princess proceeded to Srirangam with well knitted body-guards, went into the temple and disappeared there, reached Alauddin Khilji. He got wild and angry to the highest level. He could not swallow the happenings. He assumed himself that the magical power of the deity killed her daughter

He ordered his mighty army to go to Srirangam immediately, demolish every building, kill everybody and bring the deity " Namperumal". Hearing the news, the helpless people including battars, araiyars, eminent scholars feared very much , as they knew that this time the atrocities will be very very severe. This time " acharyal" came to the fore-front. Namperumal was taken away by a group of vaishnavites lead bythe great Acharya Sri Pillai Lokacharya who died enroute to tirunelveli. Swami Vedantha Desikan was instrumental for planning and operation . A stone-wall was raised in front of the presiding deity " Periya Perumal". Piratti was inside her garbha gruha safely. These happenings were well known to

all of us. But an important incident/happenings/ very sad situation did not come to light.

This time " ULUGH KHAN"was the chief to lead the army. After the departure of Sri Pillai Lokachariar and Swami Desikan from Srirangam , this army entered Srirangam and demolished houses, buildings, temples asking the people "where is the idol " Namperumal.

This Ulugh khan murdered thousands and thousands of vaishnavas who deliberately did not disclose about the whereabouts of Namperumal. About 13,000 vaishnavites lost their lives instantly and about 750 vaishnavites fled and took shelter at" GOPURA PATTI " a nearby village where the presiding deity is " SRI ADHINAYAKA PERUMAL" alias SRi Ranganathar and SRi Adhinayaki Thayar alias Sri Ranganayaki Thayar
