Dear Bhagavathas,

 

Sriman Shathakopa thathacharya swamy of Kanchipuram, who is the trustee of

Thooppul Vedantha Desikar Charitable Trust has forwarded the following

appeal to the internet fraternity requesting participation in the

Nityaradhana kainkaryam for Thuppul Deshikan and Marakathavalli Nayika

sametha Sri Deepaprakasha Perumal at the temple in Thuppul Kanchipuram. (All

- From Sriman Shathakopa thathacharya -

 

The befitting way to perform Nitya kainkaryam - As per our sampradayam, a

seeker should follow the practice of either Bhakti or Prapatti in order to

attain the eternal bliss of beatitude. If anything material is sought after,

then it does not become Purushartham. Also as per the statement, " aprArthito

na gOpayEt | saMsAratantravAhnitvAt rakShApEkShAM pratIkShate " it is

necessary for us to seek a supreme goal where the Lord Himself is the fruit

of attainment. Out of this, Swamy Deshikan elucidates that Prapatti is the

simplest and easiest means of attaining the supreme fruit and should

therefore be practiced by every seeker. Moreover we need to choose the means

of Prapatti as we are totally incapable of performing the other upayam of

bhaktiyogam. Swamy in the Uttara krutyadhikaram of his Srimath

rahasyatrayasaram has detailed the post prapatti duties of a Srivaishnava.

Swamy says that it is one of the primeval duties of a disciple to remember

the first glance of anugraham that was recieved from his acharya. At the

birth place of such an acharya and the place where he and the Lord he

extolled dwell, this is a rare opportunity to perform nityaradhanams to

them.

 

Sharanagati is something that should be practiced once only. This is the

simplest of practices it is said. Similarly speaking of this kainkaryam, it

is indeed sufficient even if one family participates in it let alone every

individual. Our only prayer is that the nityaradhanam of our Swamy and his

Swamy be conducted without any impediments. We reqest those who have not

participated so far to participate and recieve the blessings of our Swamy

and his Swamy.

 

Moreover by participating in this nityaradhana kainkaryam, one may reap

three-fold fruits. They being Bhagavat Aradhanam, Bhaagavatha-Acharya

Aradhanam and Tadeeyaaradhanam or aiding the noble archakas and

parichaarakas. Swamy talks about the greatness of bhaagavta kainkaryam in

purushartha kashtadhikaram. Swamy says " Bhaagavatha sheshatvam included,

Bhagavat sheshatvam is the natural essential characteristic of a jeeva.

Therefore bhaagavtha kainkaryam and bhagavath kainkaryam is the complete

fruit of attainment. Without performance of bhaagavatha kainkaryam, the

complete fruit is therefore not attained. Having done service to bhagavathas

like the archaka parichaarakas, the question of the fruits due its

performance does not arise. Moreover as per the phrase " yaja dEvapUjAyAM "

thiruvaradhanam to Emperuman is like a yajnam. Provided the Ritviks are

given dakshinai, only then the performance attains completion. By being of

service to the archakas also, the yagam of this nityaradhanam attains

fruition.
