Hundreds of students had congregated at Sri Ahobila Mutt, Selaiyur

yesterday. It was a cherishing moment for students and teachers of Sri

Ahobila Mutt Educational Institution Madhurantakam, the day chosen to

present Srimath Devanar Vilagam Azhagiyasingar memorial award for the

best teachers/students award for academic year 2003-2004. Never in the

history of this institution an event of such a magnitude was organised.

 

 

Event started with chanting of vEda by select students of the pAtasAlA

followed by the taniyans of Srimath Azagiyasingars.

 

Srimath Azhagiyasingar blessed the students and teachers who excelled.

Dr. Badrinath, Chairman Sankara Nethralaya

presented the awards.

 

Srimath Azhagiyasingar in His anugraha bAshaNam spoke about the rich

heritage of the educational institution which was founded

by a great visionary Srimath Injimedu Azhagiyasingar. Even since the

inception so many scholars have passed out of this

institution which includes prakritham Srimath Azhagiyasingar.

 

Apart from the conventional subjects (OSLC), several vidhyarthis

are studying sirOmaNi in Vyakarna/nyAyA/vEdantA and other speciality

subjects and also undergoing traditional grantha kalakshepams under

U.Ve. Sri Pudukottai swami.

 

It was a coincidence that only a few days ago one of the sishya of Sri

Ahobila Mutt lamented that we should be doing more to support

educational institutions.
