Guest guest Posted October 1, 2009 Report Share Posted October 1, 2009 Dear Swamin Ten days festival of Swami Desikan were excellent at Thiruvaheendrapuram,especially " Thiruth Ther bhavani " and Swami Desikan's mangalasasdanam on 29th september By about 6--30 a.m. on 29th, Swami Desikan started from " Kannadi Arai" ( room of mirrors ) contributed by Srimath Thiruk kudanthai Andavan with ten sets of Nathaswaram and Melam accompanied by " Vedaparayanam " by about 30 swamis of Vedadyaayis both small brahmacharis and very aged including Sri U.Ve.Navalpakkam Varadhacharya Swamy.( thanks to Srimath Andavan Asramam and local Vedapatasala) By about 7--30 a.m. Swami Desikan reached Sri Hayagreevan Sannidhi at Oushathagiri, the sacred Hills . After "pradhakshana" of both outer prakara and inner prakara, Swami Desikan came to " 4 pillar Mandap" within the Mahamandapam constructed and dediated to Sri Hayagreevan and Swami Desikan by " Srikainkarya " in the year 2006. in front of Sri Hayagreevan The Mahamandapam wore a fresh look with fresh white-washing and painting to iron grills etc. The four pillar mandap was decorated with scented flowers garlands and mango leaves on all the sides. Vedaparayanam came to certain stage ( Thaiththreeyam) and then thalikai was offered Rose garland, parivattam etc from Sri Hayagreevan came to Swami Desikan . Swami Desikan received them with "manthahaasam". After receiving " Theerththam" and " Sataari " from Sri Hayagreevan , VedaParayana Swamis chanted vedam and after that " Adhyaabaga Swamis" chanted " Thiruppaavai Sarrumurai Paasurams" and " Thiruppallandu " and Desika Vaazhithirunamam etc followed by " Sri Hayagreeva Stotram" " Garuda thandagam" and " Garuda Panchasat" After Ghoshti viniyokam of all prasadams, Swami Desikan again went to the inner prakara for Sri Hayagreevan's Pradhakshanam and descended from the Hills. At the steps, Gadyam was recited. With "Oyyara Nadai" Swami Desikan entered the temple at about 10 o'clock From that , mangalasasanam was done by Swami Desikan before Sri Devanathan, Sri Raman and other sannidhis. Stotras of Swami Desikan were recited at each sannidhi Though it was a working day after long holidays, asthikas came in large numbers to worship Swami Desikan's mangalasasanam at the Hills and many worshippers praised the white-washing, painting,etc of Mahamandapam and adornment of 4 pillar mandap fromwhere Swami Desikan was performing mangalasasanam This was an unique occasion , unforgettable by every Desika bakthas Sarvam Sree Hayagreeva preeyathaamDasanUruppattur SoundararajanSrikainkarya Try the new India Homepage.
