Guest guest
Dear all, what exercises are appropriate for my mother (77 years old)? She has irregular heartbeats and i ask myself if this irregularity can be caused by an irregularity in breathing. So if she learns to breath better may be the hearth will beat also better? I suggest: - Tuning in - spine flexes 2 minutes - shoulders shrougs 1-2 minutes Sat nam clear mind to all Marco from CH
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Trust your intuition-breathwork is very important. Heart mudra-index touching the fleshy part of the palm, ring and middle finger touching thumb while pinkie extends out. Any asana that involves the arms, especially outstretched. How is her flexibility? Can she get on the floor? If not, perhaps yoga mudra in a chair? Since the heart center is where we store grief and, when manifested negatively, can cause us to fear rejection and become overly dependent on (the love of) others, this may have to be addressed. Affirmation: Joy. Joy. Joy. I lovingly allow joy to flow through my mind and body and experience. (from Louise Hay's Heal Your Body) Love & Light, M -- Breathe Deeply, Melissa D. Guest guest
Dear Marco: I would not ask her to do the exercises you suggest more than 30 seconds at first, then a minute, and after some time 2 minutes. Go easy with her unless she is used to exercising. After these exercises, have her meditate with her hands in prayer pose with the tip of her fingers at the level of her third eye, arms parallel to the floor, letting her breath come from holding the posture. Eyes relaxed and closed. She needs to check with her doctor before doing this! Start with a minute and with experience and her own sense let it increase slowly up to 11 minutes. This meditation strengthens the heart muscle and works on the heart chakra as well. Blessings, Awtar Singh
