Guest guest
I have heard some people refer too Sa Ta Na Ma as a walking meditation ... or that it can be done while walking. Does anyone have any special instructions on how to do this? Also, previously there was a discussion about saying the mantra outloud in a normal voice, then whispered, then silently; with the silent version the strongest of the 3 ways. So, could I just skip the out loud and whispering parts, and just say it silently? Sat Nam Ric
Guest guest
Dear Ric: The first part of your question about using SA TA NA MA as part of a walking meditation is called BreathWalk. There is a book called BreathWalk (Yogi Bhajan and Gurucharan Singh Khalsa) available at major bookstores or at Kundalini Yoga online stores that describes 16 different walking meditations. Enjoy! As for skipping the loud and whisper parts in chanting SA TA NA MA, don't if it is the Kirtan Kriya you are practicing. You can for your own experimentation try it as you wish and take notes for yourself. Otherwise, we are not to change the kriyas. Blessings, Awtar Singh Note from moderator: book is available from our sponsor at
