Guest guest
Sat nam, I have been doing breathwalk for years and I heartily recommend it. It amazes me that something so simple can be so powerful. I concur with the rec. that you buy the book, but here is one exercise taught me by Gurucharan Singh Khalsa: As you step left-right-left-right on each step inhale sa-ta-na-ma. As you continue to step left-right-left-right exhales each step - wa-he-gu-ru, except that pronounce waha guru out loud. It was told to me to do it 5 minutes, continue walking a few minutes, then do it 5 minutes, for a total of 4 times of 5 minutes each. I find it creates peace. Guest guest
Jaya, I'm glad you mention breathwalk! When I can't do any other Kun.Yoga, I can do breathwalk. I like to walk. I did it yesterday. It is quite easy - think of a pace: left foot right left right. Coordinate with that pacing:think mentally, sa-ta-na-ma, and on each beat inhale. For 5 minutes. then - to the same 4-beat of left foot, right, left right, exhales thru nose - wa-he-gu-ru. Waheguru is spoken, satanam is silent. Do the wa-he-gu-ru- for 4 minutes. Then rest (still walking) for a few minutes. Then repeat the 5-min intervals for a total of 4 times. I hope this is clear, once you do it believe me it is easier than trying to describe it! Sometimes I go over 5 minutes and do it for 10 minutes, I'm sure this is ok. The complete name of the book is Breathwalk: Breathing Your Way to a Revitalized Body, Mind and Spirit: Gurucharan Singh There also is a website, which I found by searching under " breathwalk " but I haven't looked at it, so I don't know if the website is in coordination with the book. Guest guest
Dear Karta; Doing the Breathwalk in place of asanas is a very good idea. I will be getting my own apartment soon, then I will have plenty of place to to the asanas. Presently, I will walk. Thank you for all of your loving help.
