Sat Nam Siri Gopal,

I have also wondered at the 'appropriateness' of breath of fire

during peri-menopause and menopause, but have practiced the

breath without asking for an answer from outside myself. I do

not view the increased body heat experienced as hot flashes as

something to be avoided. It feels as if it is part of my body's

natural process. When I remember to, which is not always, I try

to sit with the sensation and feel the rise of heat as a cleansing

energy.

This may not answer your question, but it is my experience.

Be Peace,

Guru Gopal Kaur

Sat Nam Siri Gopal,

I do not modify breath of fire for peri/menopausal women, either for myself

or my students.

I prefer to look at " hot flashes " as " power surges " to quote Susun Weed.

This is your brain rewiring iitself. Not only that, but I feel that this is

Kundalini rising within women. We need to embrace this, thank the power

surges and breath through them.
