Jal Neti Problem

I recently started doing Jal Neti Kriya once a day. For some reason

instead of opening up my sinuses they get really blocked a few minutes

after jal neti. What am I doing wrong? I use warm water with salt.

It feels comfortable when I am doing the kriya but I am miserable a

few minutes later.

Dear Dan,

 

5 minutes before starting jalneti, you must inhale a drop of pure mustard oil or

else 'Ayurveda Shadbindu oil' through each nostril.

 

You must put just a pinch of salt in jalneti water.

 

And after doing jalneti, you must dry up your nose by breathing in through

your mouth and vigorously exhaling through your nose.

 

I may submit that your sinus problem aggravates after jalneti because lot of

moisture enters into sinuses and since you are not doing anything to dry up your

nose, the moisture keeps adding up which gives you that trouble. Be rest assured

that now you'll feel quite comfortable after doing jalneti. I'm sure you know

that jalneti is a good remedy not only for sinuses but also for headache,

eyesight, tonsilities and for a cool mind.
