issues.

I have been have problems with my temper, and stress the past few months.

It was recommended to me to try yoga and meditation but i am not

really sure how to get started and are these common things that help

with anger?

About anger, I think you need to find the source of it.

Find out if you are the cause, sometimes with need to love ourselves a

little more and enjoy all the gifts the nature gives us, such as the

stars, moon, the air that we breathe.

Love yourself before you start loving others.

Smile more often my child!!

Dear Jessica,

Anger is a result of feeling you have lost something. Yoga and meditation take

you out of the personality into the infinite which allows you to understand that

your " loss " is a perception and that in the infinite, you have not lost, but

gained everything. When practicing yoga and/or meditation, it brings you into

the present moment. Moment by moment. Here you can feel at ease.

Good luck. This is a wonderful site and if you practice, you will benefit.

I would try Meditations on the Heart ie: Heart Chakra

Openers

When the heart is open it is impossible for anger to

co-exist.

Check out the website for Heart meditations/Postures ...etc

hope that helps and you find some peace.

Hi Jessica,

In an article on treating OCD and other anxiety disorders, David

Shanahoff-Khalsa gives the following exercise for managing anger:

" Sit with a straight spine, and close the eyes. Simply chant out

loud " Jeeo, Jeeo, Jeeo, Jeeo " continuously and rapidly for 11 min

without stopping (pronounced like the names for the letters G and O).

During continuous chanting, you do not stop to take long breaths, but

you do continue with just enough short breaths to keep the sound

going. Eleven minutes is both the minimum and maximum time for this

technique. This technique is useful even for a " red hot " angry mind,

and the effects can last up to 3 days, depending on the severity of the

anger. Practicing twice a day or more is acceptable for the most severe

states. "

David's web site is www.theinternetyogi.com; you can find the link to

this article on the page where one can also order his OCD treatment

video. Although his study was done on people with OCD, many of the

exercises would be good for anyone with stress and anxiety, so you

might want to look at the article for the other meditations.

I tried this technique when I was really mad about something, and

afterwards I was too limp to be angry. <gg>

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a wonderful happy day,

Sat Darshan Kaur :-)

Dear people

Perhaps this is something for you:

I hate mantras chanting. Better is creative expression of anger to transform the

energy into love.

Bye bye

Stephan

Dealing with temper and anger is much simpler than all this! Rage is

another thing. Rage comes from a deeper inner rebellion against all

the nonsense we integrated about who we are.

Anger and temper just need to be accepted. By this I mean to notice

once the temper as surface: " Oh! I am angry right now! " And to accept

that instead of fighting it. it is the fighting of our experience of

anger that creates escalation, not the acceptance of it.

Opening the heart at first brings a lot of anger! It is healthy!

Healthy! Healthy! Please don't make anger a bad thing. What's not

helpful is to act or react according to the experience of anger.

Once you accept the experience you are going through you can feel

what's beneath the anger: fear and beneath the fear: hurt. Then deeply

experience the hurt. It is about being patient with self.

Blessings, Awtar Singh

I can see how this can be true the faster I get to What made me up set the fast

I get over it.

I usually get angry when Im being corrected. As a child i was right allot I was

smart for my age . But my husband is a very smart man and (in a kind way he will

correct me to help me) I'm not use to it so i get hurt offended and ANGRY. there

are other things that do this to me this is just one that I have picked up on

quickly.

Thank you For your advise again
