Hello,

I'm new at the breath of fire technique and have done it as instructed

by yoga videos online, all of them showing the same process for the

breath of fire. While doing breath of fire, an area close to my right

rib starts hurting. Is there anything anyone can recommend.

About the sodarshan chakra kriya, I am not sure how to do the stomach

pump. Is the sensation like breathing without actually breathing, or

do you have to just contract the abs muscles, or what? Any advice will

be greatly appreciated.

You are using muscles that you normally dont use so this is normal. When you get

a rib pain stop rest. The next day try again but a little bit longer. Push air

out on the exhale as if you had a fly on your nose and were try to get rid of

it, making the inhale automatic. Dont overdo the exhale and use equal forces on

inhale and exhale. Sodarshan start with 5mins for 40 days keep stomach in and

pulse inward on the pump. You will doubt it is working this is your mind

resisting the change you are creating. Maybe some deep sadness or anger before a

release around day 40. Some people may take longer. Then bliss. Very powerful go

slow. -Chris
