Guest guest
Sat Nam, Blessing to all. I am in my 10th day of meditation for prosperity and knowing how to recognize it. My profession is secondary ed. but burned out after nine years of it. This was three years ago at which time I went into financial services. This required a lot of self- discipline that I do not have. I find it hard to get out of the house to do the necessary PR. Needless to say I haven't been " financially " successful in this area. Funny that when it is someone else's business--I am there the required time and then more. My business--I get lazy! I lack confidence so I find myself taking time to do things at home or going out to help someone, anything to keep me from doing what I need to do for " My Business " . I have toyed with the idea of going back to teaching; I have started classes for massage therapy and have financially committed to this program. Bottom line I need to work for income but I want to enjoy what I do. How does one get to this point? Although with some reservations, I applied for a teaching position and that was unsuccessful...I again submitted apps. with two other school districts and waiting...Question: Am I pushing this and should I let it go?...and should I seek building my business?...Should I just be patient; wait to complete massage therapy classes to build that up and in the meantime do something temp to fill in financial gaps? My husband is willing to support whatever decision I make. Deciding is the BIG PROBLEM for me. Comments, advice and or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I will continue with meditation. Guest guest
Sat Nam MC I recognise some of what you descibe, I'm now in secondary ed following a first career in finance/IT. A couple of years ago I was faced with some deep life questions at a time when I was seeming to become more spiritually aware. I followed my intuition (which was a bit daring and unusual for me at the time) ... as a result I started Kundalini Yoga and had a series of one to one discussions with my teacher about the 'problem' I had. I was blessed with a teacher who really helped ... not making the decisions for me but shining a light into different facets, different ways of approaching the problem. So, one thing you might consider is asking to talk to with a KY teacher about this. The upshot for me was a growing appreciation of the problem that faced me, my relationship with it shifted from 'problem' to 'puzzle'. Sometimes our minds kick up a lot of noise, positive mind and negative mind chattering and we just get confused. Part of what I have learned while I have been practicing KY over the last couple of years are ways to either still the chatter or kind of sidestep it. What follows are a few things that have worked for me. If you feel inclined, you might like to try one or more of them. If not then bless you for prompting me to write them down anyway ... I trust that someone reading them will find some use (or maybe it's just to prompt me to crystallise my thoughts ...) One technique to sidestep analytical mind chatter is to use an intuitive/divination tool - but I use these things rather differently than I did when I was younger. (I'll describe how later) There are many 'divination' tools which have been used ... astrology, cartomancy, tarot, geomancy, numerology etc. In KY we tend to look at numerology as a tool. In KY teacher training refer to Osho (we're asked to read his book 'The True Name') as well as Yogi Bhajan. If you look around on the web you'll come across Osho's 'Zen Tarot' which is useful for exploring problems ... there's even a free online system that provides Osho tarot layouts. Whatever method of diviniation/intuition you use, my appproach these days is to not focus so heavily/slavishly on 'what the cards say' (for instance), but rather, focus on my reaction to what they appear to say. For example, the cards (or your 'numbers') might suggest that now is a time to be determined rather than going with the flow. As you read it ... just be watchful of your feelings and your heart will deliver a message. It might embrace the statement as a friend 'Yes ... that's SO right!' or it might be less positive ... " Nonsense ... that doesn't sound right at all... " your answer may be calling out to you from inside you if you listen. Your partner sounds wonderfully supportive, you might invite them to take the place of the divination tool (which is sort of what my KY teacher did with me). Ask them to role play a very assertive position, e.g. 'Don't you DARE give up your training course ... of COURSE you must see it through to the end' sit facing them when they do this and just eact as if the roleplay was real ... argue or smile, but notice what you are doing, what you are feeling. Next day (or at least after a break and maybe a cup of yogi tea) do the same thing but have your partner present the opposite position equally strongly e.g. 'That training course was a mistake ... you've got to give it up ... it's WAY too expensive and it will take too long to complete ...' discuss ... and note your feelings. Then sit and talk through the feelings you had in both cases with your partner ... probably it will already be clear what your divine path is ... your heart will know and your partner will see the shine in your eyes when you talk about the thing that is right for you - when you are touching the truth. You might want to meditate or reflect quietly to catch any subtleties in your intuition, but I feel we have the right, responsibility and ability to touch the divine wisdom inside us that connects us to the infinite - the answers are there. Trust , breathe slowly and connect to the answer-light within you ... This process echoes the model of positive mind/negative mind/neutral mind from the 10 spiritual bodies described ny Yogi Bhajan. With experience, you might find that you no longer need to use the tool hear what your heart is saying. My personal belief system is that we are here to learn, have fun, and be happy. Problems, for me, have shifted into being gifts from the cosmos to help me learn. Sometimes we might think we have failed to learn if we don't 'solve' a problem - but even then there is the chance to learn about humility and acceptance. I find Kundalini Yoga technology fits wonderfully for me. Maybe your current situation is to present you with the opportunity to exercise discernment (by choosing), or acceptance (by letting go and taking what comes your way), to become more sensitive and cherishing of your own connection with divine truth, to experiment with intuition tools or simply appreciate the support of your partner. With thanks, blessings and best wishes for your receipt and recognition of prosperity in its many guises.
