I'm wondering if there is anybody on this list that

combines their practice of Kundalini Yoga with

Paganism. I'm a pagan and have met only a few in the

Kundalini Yoga community. I'm wondering if there is

anyone else out there...

yes I am shamman which what I have read it is like an

evolution in the practice what I can see it is all

about knowing yourself and sensing the energies around

you and I find that it fits in very well with my

practice glad I am not the only one.

Hi, anyone of any spiritual path can practice

Kundalini Yoga. It is meant for the householder, that

is, the person who has other obligations and concerns

besides sitting in a cave all day meditating.

Kundalini Yoga is a powerful science (and I emphasize

the word " science " ) that delivers according to what

you invest in it. If you can devote 2 or more hours a

day to yoga & meditation then it is a powerful life

changing experience. If you can devote even an hour a

day then you will find yourself growing stronger with

a desire to raise the level of your commitment to your

own self discipline. If you just go to yoga class once

a week, well, then you'll know about it and know that

its available for improving and sharpeing your

consciousness. Kundalini Yoga is what we make of our

practice of it. Enjoy.

Hello Mark

I practice KY and Paganism. I live in ultra conservative Tennessee so

there are few KY practitioners and/or pagans. One KY instructor is

Jewish and the other Christian. The religious beliefs have never been

an issue with the KY folks, Although I do get the occasional 'stink

eye' from my Christian neighbors when I wear my turban.

KY- through practice people are given the resources to act consciously instead

of react, to feel, connect with themselves, and the universe and also to respect

other beliefs without feeling intimated by differing practices. In the

beginning, I was sceptical especially when I saw my teacher wearing all white

and a turban. But by the end of my first two classes I was grateful to Sarah Bij

and Defta in Madrid for sharing this with me.( At the time I was quite depressed

and desperate in my search for something that would make the pain go away.) Most

importantly whether you read the Bible Koran or the Bagva- Gita, KY gives you

spiritual fortitude to live the teachings and not just read about them. It´s

been a hard road these past 4 years, but I´m grateful. Sat Nam. Wahe Guru -Chris

I'm a former Priestess and while there are some pagans

who try to find a spiritual label to excuse their very

bad behavior, there are plenty of honest and studious

pagans who dislike the bad name the hedonists cause. I

am not necessarily pagan or not, mostly because I

dislike labels so very much.

However, my sister is a Priestess as well and runs a

non-profit group in Central Florida so that area

pagans have somewhere to go that isn't a cult of

personality (the area has a few) and what I have

taught her of KY is quite harmonious. It would be even

more so if I could get her to actually stick to a KY

practice but they are indeed harmonious and I am

guessing that there are many.

You are definitely not alone.

Peace,

Jennifer

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the

tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no

price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. - Friedrich

Nietzsche
